Has anyone heard of this? i don't know why they are butt-hurt about Taiwanese cards, but SD cards definitely carry manufacturer, serial number, etc in their memory. i've heard of certain cards not working in certain digital cameras, but manufacturer origin isn't the reason, afaik.
