Earl
Also happened across this DIY and laughed at the first few pics http://www.bimmerboard.com/members/calypso750/chromeline.htm

My new passenger window for the compact has this and I am trying to figure out the best way to remove it as soap and water didn't do the trick Use 0000 steel wool. It'll easily remove that grime without scratching the glass. Earl
Earl
I will grab some after work=) Do I remove it in straight or circular motions, or does it not matter?
wasnt m3
Doesn't matter.
patsbimmer1
Is it on the surface or is it actually in between sheets of the glass? You could try a product called Bar Keepers Friend. I've used it on the glass top of my stove and house windows and it works miracles!
Earl
I would hope it is on the surface=( I will give that a try too if the steel wool doesn't work
patsbimmer1
I'd try Bar Keepers Friend before an abrasive like steel wool!
KaiserRolls
Both of those options sound super risky. Just buy new stuff from the dealer GunMetalGrey and B C
Earl
For what I got charged for this used one I should have bought a new pane. A new window is only $156. The guy was supposed to send me bumper shocks and the window for $120 but then he threw away the shocks and sent me the window saying, "Shipping was a lot more than I figured and the studs on the bumper shocks had more rust than you wanted." I just watched a guy clean windows with the steel wool like TJ suggested and it was phenomenal

Also this dosent work with tint or rear window heaters on the inside as it will scratch.
patsbimmer1
Yea, I didn't see any of the posts ahead of me before I posted that...

andyhundley
I wish my rear specs looked that good on my e30. My right rear trailing arm is pretty far out of spec. I am hoping a bushing replacement will do the trick. Also how fast do you guys go through rear tires? I am only able to get a 1.2 summer seasons out of my rears running Yokohama S- Drives. straight6pwr
i like rake, so my e30s were not very low in the back, so I never had strange wear in the back, even with old bushings. andyhundley
GunMetalGrey
I have never driven it long enough to go through a set of tires lol. My 300 tread wear BFG's still look new and that is the set I had on there the longest. Sounds like you may have something going on back there. I'm a bit concerned that my subframe riser bushings will take out too much camber, so here's to hoping that doesn't happen!
andyhundley
My bushings are mush anyways so we'll see in spring if it resolves anything.
KaiserRolls
I have 500/600 miles, and an autox on my re71r. And a broken axle. Before that I had some neo nittogens that wouldn't die for 4 years

HipMF
Crank, but no start. No spark. No fuel. This e34 is the least reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I blame Earl.
