straight6pwr Posted March 17, 2015 Report Share Posted March 17, 2015 dual exhaust just doesnt look right on bmws of this vintage. its also not worth the extra cost or work over single: extra piping, two mufflers, extra cutting of the valance, more weight, etc etc. i'm going for a big single oval exhaust tip when I redo mine. (BTW I actually test drove that red sedan that your wheels came off of in Detroit like 6 years ago. It was really clean then but it doesn't look so hot these days.) straight6pwr Posted March 19, 2015 Report Share Posted March 19, 2015 You wont want anything wider than 8" unless you plan on super stiff suspension and fender work or widening. 225/235 is pretty much maxed out which fit great on 8". CMart Posted May 8, 2015 Author Report Share Posted May 8, 2015 Making some progress on the booster relocation and waiting on some aluminum parts to get back from my welder. Since I have not been able to find a good wiring diagram I have some general electronics questions. From what I am gathering I need to take the main relay and fuel pump relay from the E39. Would these be located on the body harness or engine harness? There are a relays on the body harness and I am hoping those are it. If they are fact are do I just need to tap into the E30 ignition wires so I can power them when I IG1, IG2, start, etc they are powered? Basically just wire them into the E30 key, and then into the fuel pump and the starter? Any good write ups on general engine swaps and electronics for this? Put in some hours this weekend and got the booster bracket mounted and all of the linkage setup. "Hardest part of the swap" is now done.
