i_love_cars
Rofl @ rotors on top of rotors but it I mean I definitely agree with the strategy of using a hammer. I'm not sure a project is actually a project without using one. KaiserRolls
KaiserRolls
Found my axle nuts. In a box. Labeled. "Sway bar parts" guys I think I need to quit at things
GunMetalGrey
Brian, my tuning pitchfork is currently resting in the garage. I shall brandish my axle nut shovel for this discussion. You are an engineer, and it saddens me that you are subscribing to the theory of the lock plate being used as a washer to ensure the nut doesn't rotate. In your assemblies do you not use lock nuts when you are doing sheet metal? Because the sheet metal would deform and capture the nut, in your theory.Though that depends on the type of metal used. I could easily remove an axle nut with the lock plate behind it. But if you put it on the proper way (over the nut) you cannot even get a socket on it. That bad boy is locked in there. #endrant
KaiserRolls
FWIW: mine were put on incorrectly by the PO. ("Washers" behind nut) I spun them off with an impact, bent tabs and all GunMetalGrey

B C
Jet fuel cant bend properly installed lock plates. I will procure further evidence of proper lock plate installation ClassE
ClassE
Step 1: Install Nut (Torque to a gazillion ft/lbs) Step 2: Place washer "over" nut aligning tabs Step 3: Beat repeatedly until fully seated DUN.
Earl
^ agreed. To end this all, my compact rear wheel bearings were original and the locking plate was smashed on over the nut=)
