Instead of getting my work done I decided to post a little update:
got this from andyhundley a month or two ago!

Deep cleaned and conditioned the leather to restore it to its former glory:

It came out really nicely! Looks almost brand new

Made the necessary spacer by cutting a steel sleeve from the hardware store to the exact same dimensions as the one from the car. Installed it and everything works perfectly, unplugged the SRS module as well so the SRS light is disabled and stays off without the airbag

Going to order the colored strip at the bottom at some point too

I was always taught that in a professional setting, emails should always be sent with even more consideration than verbal interactions.  Written word is like a bullet, once it's sent you don't get it back and there is always a record.

Brookfield Fashion Square last night - I parked, saw this, and the guy next to him was leaving so i ran back to my car to shameless move it and park next to the Alpina. I'm totally that guy.

I only sold one BMW that I owned and that was a 94 325i sedan. I really liked the car but it was TOO small. I always felt cramped. It was great in all other regards and a blast to drive. It was in that car that I received my only speeding ticket in the last 15 years. I remember doing 55 and downshifting and rev matching into third and "Holy Crap" did that thing pull. I do miss it for that reason alone. I have a sweet spot for my E28's. I guess I am getting old but still have some class  .

Sold my 328i today... it was a sad day but I could tell the guy that bought it was truly thrilled after he drove it.

Yeah I kinda gave up. Maybe we could still do this semi-monthly if people are interested. Doesn't take much work on my end.

The only way synthetic oil can "cause" a leak is by cleaning sludge buildup that is currently clogging a potential leak.  Some people think it damages seals/gaskets somehow, this is purely a myth.  I prefer to have the inside of my engine look like this, perfectly clean, no sludge anywhere.  This is after 5 years/45k after a rebuild.  I change the oil with royal purple HPS once a year (about 10k)

I also use Synthetic in my Maxima and Land Cruiser.  The Maxima did not start leaking and it had conventional oil until I switched around 170k, it is now at almost 220k.  The Land Cruiser leaks alot, but it did that before I made the switch, it is hard to tell if it is any worse so I'm not sure.

Little sound clip for the kids, put some miles on yesterday but something just isn't right and I am working on figuring it out. I have way more timing than what I feel like I should, and when doing a "pull" it will feel hesitant, then pull very hard for about 1 second, then go back to being hesitant. Going to hit up the trigger logs, composite logs, because the standard data log didn't show anything odd going on.
At this point I am not scared to just mess with things, if the engine got ruined by the tune or not broken in correctly because of that it would have already had the damage done. In the grand scheme of things the engine isn't even expensive, maybe 500 dollars of a many thousand dollar build. It's just very discouraging to not have it working right.
One thing that I was expecting but hoping not to have to do is an oil cooler, after beating on it (staying in boost constantly) yesterday when we stopped the oil was at around 230 degrees. I can't be having that! Unfortunately a legitimate oil cooler setup will run me around $500, but gotta pay to play!
The hood will fit! Put the front lip on too! Have to modify a few things before I can bolt the hood down.

Got the lower cover on and torqued down. Black RTV'd everything and used the gaskets so hopefully no leaks.

VAC damper is on but I'm waiting to torque the NEW crank bolt.
Should finish the timing in the next 48 hours.
    I've been busy...

I can eat pistachios and spit the shells in the general direction of your intake ports in a lousy attempt to clean carbon off of the ports of your direct injection cars.

So for all of you that have been around long enough, I had a pretty big car meet at my old house and supplied a keg and pizza.  It ended in burning a NASCAR tire and a fully inflated tire on a bottle cap, me riding around my lawn mower like an idiot, and a lot of stuff people tell me that happened that I don't remember.

    Anyhow.

The plan is sometime mid-October (date will be decided in early Sept. so you can plan ahead) we'll be throwing a similar meet up at my shop in Port Washington.

Sorry, no bonfire this time around.

Yes, I have a cruise route plan (tentative) and some great photo op areas.  If anyone wants to help me go through these plans, that'd be cool.

The event will be free.  Free beer, free food, free seeing other BMW people(first come, first served, of course).  Donations will be accepted (but not expected) as I will be paying out of pocket.  For the good of the community.

I learned a lot from the last events we put on, and the more we try to structure stuff the less enjoyable it is.  So we'll just plan on a time we'd have food and beers, and a time we're going to go for a cruise.  This can be an all day event.  I have enough parking available for everyone.

I know Port Washington is out of the way for a few of you, but this should be a good time.  Plus its a great way to send off the car season with like minded individuals.

Input is always welcome!  Let me know what you guys think.

So. As usual I suck at updating things once they get underway. I was able to get the car started, but was unable to drive it (running super rich) I spent a bit of time going through my settings and found that my injector pulsewidth base number was about 10MS, but for my injector setup I wanted about 8MS max. That leaned things out a bit! I am working on getting the tune better but was able to put on a few miles yesterday. A few comments about that.
Holy crap is the turbo loud.... Like, REALLY loud. Kind of awesome, but not the stealth that I was hoping for.
It spools FAST. Data log shows %50 throttle, 3100RPM and 7psi (current limit)
The timing was not set correctly, so it wasn't fast, but I could tell it wanted to be. Very excite to tune! (Much excite, very boost)
Also, the clutch feels like stock apparently, so that's also cool!
Hopefully vids once I get it tuned a bit better!

I'm not a huge SRT4 fan. the actual car it's self is ugly. the 4 door platform is evenworse. BUT I love the motor/sound.

I picked it up knowing it was modified. Come to find out, it has more money sunk into it then expected. It has a full Mopar Stage 3 kit. Which includes bigger turbo, bigger injectors, AGP waste gate, AGP BOV, Mopar Stage 3 ECU tuning W/ custom tunes, IC sprayer, 100+ octane tune (race fuel baby!) and dial-a-boost.

These all sound like random nonsense. But this thing has some serious money sunk into it. Aside from the coil overs, the factory reman trans ($4k+ alone) I paid $800 for the E28 3 years ago. And now traded for a car that with, a little work, will be worth over $6K. I also should be sitting around 350whp right now, with better tunes and an E85 tune I should be over 400!

This said. The car is still ugly and stupid.
