patsbimmer1
There's an 02 M5 in Madison off of Stoughton rd for $14k with 166k miles. Its at a used dealer and the guy told me he has service records and everything is ok but when asked about the vanos he just kept saying "yea it's fine, i've sold these before, it's fine." The body is ok with a few scratches and broken bumper grill.
wasnt m3
We just sold one at my work identical(but probably better condition) to that with 15k less miles for $10500. That car out in Madison has been for sale for a while and probably will be at that price.
i_love_cars
agreed, as soon as I saw 166k miles next to the number $14k, I immediately assumed that M5 had been for sale for a long time and will continue to be. That's ridiculously overpriced. Oh well, have fun sitting on an M5 in the dead of winter in Wisconsin, idiot.

I've seen that car and it might actually be worth it. It's a unicorn. It's a dinan car with the S54 and in Boston Green. It looks good in person. wasnt m3
I think that M Coupe is an honest $40-45k car. The Dinan stuff probably doesn't help it, but doesn't hurt either. It just takes that one individual that really wants a green one...Probably the reason it was the only one ordered in that color combination to begin with haha. That reminds me, I did see an 02 M Coupe pop up on ebay with low miles that had been ordered in Phoenix yellow over Laguna Seca interior. Puke. That car sold for about $10k more than comparable cars (other than color) at that time.
Earl
Wouldn't 60k be more like coupe prices with those options?
wasnt m3
It is a coupe, not a roadster. If it were a roadster it would be worth about half.
Earl
Glad you cleared that up=) Someone find me a crashed z3 coupe (non m) for cheap
wasnt m3
Why?? The non-M cars suck. And if you want one to fix, be prepared for outrageous parts prices.

On a side note, there are like 4 crashed i8's if anyone wants an interesting project
Earl
I like the look of z3 coupes but would never pay the price for an M. Especially with how much I would potentially "molest" it.
wasnt m3
I've seen several m coupes sell in the mid teens, typically with 130-160k miles and usually with some good mods. Non-M cars are still around 10k, sometimes more. You owe it to yourself anyways, buy a decent car for once!
Earl
Lol you have a somewhat good point=P
straight6pwr
i'm with earl. the 3.0 z3 coupe is plenty fast (basically as fast as the s52 ///m coupe) and you'd be upgrading the suspension anyway, so why pay the premium and higher maintenance cost for an ///m coupe? cost for replacing those wide-ass tires, dual exhaust, ///m suspension parts = f*ck that. Earl
I'm one of those Form over Function idiots in this case=P
patsbimmer1
Because an S54 M coupe exists... thats why you pay a premium.
wasnt m3
There are so many reasons the m car is better. I happen to own one, so I think I'd have some idea. I have driven countless standard Z3s as well. Just touching the surface, you get better engine, LSD, some of the best seats BMW has offered, leather trimmed dash and door panels, bumpers, mirrors, brakes, wheels, suspension, and on and on. Not bad for only a few grand more. Not to mention, the car doesn't even feel similar(and not nearly as girly lol). Parts are cheap since most of it is all e36 m3 stuff. I must add, out of the nearly 80 cars I've they owned, it has to be the funnest. KaiserRolls
YoungCR
While I still enjoy a 3.0 Z3, TJ is right I that the premium for the Z3M isn't that much more money for many gains. 1.8 Z3's are awful haha.

Personally not a fan of early Z4 interior although again Z4M's I can deal with that. Late model Z4 Sdrive35i's are a blast.
i_love_cars
You couldn't pay me to drive a base trim Z3. Complete shitbox. That's all I can contribute to this discussion. Facts are facts. wasnt m3
