patsbimmer1 got a reaction from YoungCR in New build! E90 M3
We shot another video at work. I haven't really done much with the car this year other than drive it every chance I can and fix the lip every few weeks from rogue squirrels attracted to the sweet sweet tone of a V8. Twice these little buggers have jumped in front of me on the same road. Good news, I'm getting OK at repairing carbon fiber.

Spotted this in Barcelona last week! The guy had a big smile after I snapped the picture and gave him a thumbs up.

Thank you!! The cinnamon isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I really like it against the steel gray's blueish tones!

@Rekpointsnapped a couple exhaust clips this past weekend. Sounds pretty dang good for an S54!

For our first kid I built the crib about 12 hours before my wife woke me up to tell me we needed to go to the hospital.

And she's back together! Only hiccup was I forgot to order the front bumper bolts for the MTech bumper. The stock one are too long, but will work until the new ones come in.
She still needs a good paint correction and wax, but I'll save that for another day.
Feels good to save another E46...

Snow finally melted and we've had a few good rains in to wash all the salt away. Took the M3 out today and gave it a test drive after all the changes. Ran like a can of beans. Turns out I had crossed the two pre-cat O2 sensors when doing the header install. Finally got them swapped and it's no longer a can of beans. Tossing in a lil sound clip of the new X pipe too, sounds freakin awesome in person.

KW coilovers, Ground Control camber/caster plates, lower control arms, TC Kline rear shock mounts, sway bar links and bushings all installed the past week or two. Had some time to do a paint correction yesterday as well as install a paint matched rear wiper delete. Getting closer to being satisfied...for now.

What's better than having 5 vehicles? Having 6!
A poor picture for intro, but its the only one I have right meow
This was a spur of the moment decision, and is planned to replace my truck and 1 series.
2011 x5 35d Sports package, HUD, 360 cam, premium package, pano sunroof, and a set of snow tires + to go with it
More details / photos later

One of the guys I work with is selling an e70 35d. I know the injectors were replaced recently but other than that I couldn't tell you the condition or how much but I'll ask him for an ad.

The importance of physical media?
Threw Spotify a curveball today and it sent it right back at me. Listened to this album a bunch ~10 years ago and promptly forgot about it...

Setback after setback....this is the final result! 295 rear tires and 245 fronts, fitment is great but I plan to lower it just a bit more.

It was a very busy couple of days for the M3!
At 109k miles I did the rod bearings and bolts, motor mounts, header gaskets, trans mounts, driveshaft center support bearing, trans fluid, and engine oil.
The motor mount on passenger side was two pieces, and the drivers side was collapsed and the oil pan was resting on the sway bar.
Bearings looked acceptable for the mileage, but good to have piece of mind that they're done.
The motor had been replaced by the dealer at around 300 miles for a stuck injector, and it looks like they didn't do the header gaskets correctly...
The drive after felt great, significantly smoother with the engine not rocking around in there and being properly isolated from vibrations.

Forgot to post this last Tuesday up at Woodmans in Appleton. Super clean Msport 530i manual.

It looks OEM. Very nice job.

patsbimmer1 reacted to Jdesign in My name is Earl, and I have a Stainless Steel bolt fetish =)
Oh man, I haven't seen that in ages. I also never noticed that his lighter had a BMW roundel on it.
In other news, Earl actually asked me about his car this week. I think he might be anticipating some effort towards it this year!

Interior stuff is all done, remote Knob used the area for the fog lights (which Are being removed for the OEM “delete” panels)
hoping I won’t have to touch interior stuff anymore for this chapter (wideband is already routed, just not connected to anything)
made a quick “bracket” for the bias adjuster out of some scrap 3/4” alum square tubing.
removed the factory heat shield for the exhaust (firewall area, still running the one in the tunnel) as it was pretty disgusting and had seen better days.
Eventually I’ll add some DEI stuff if needed. Also removed the factory sound deadening thing from the firewall/tunnel. After removing the flanged plastic nuts the stuff basically fell apart as I removed it. It was also gross. Have seen rot behind these before on other cars, but luckily this car has never seen winter. Removed all the studs with an angle grinder as well.
should have a lot more room to access trans stuff now if I need to.
next up is to finish making hardlines to go from master to bias valve and master to front brakes. Once that’s done I can start on the engine stuff
