DrLeadFoot
Sucks when the free fix doesn't do the trick! It's pretty easy to do. Keep in mind the reverse torx bolt is REVERSE threaded. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
DrLeadFoot
10 days of off and on daily driving: - SMG codes -NONE - ENGINE codes -Code 38 (Lambda sensor heating before cat) I'm going to clear adaptations and see how it goes. I'm pretty happy to just be dealing with this one code. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk B C
DrLeadFoot
One pre cat O2 sensor (the one I extended the wires on) isn't talking. Need to re-do the connections and get some spark plug heat wrap to protect the connections against the heat. Still driving it regardless. B C
off-the-wall question in case the wiring isnt the culprit: Is there anything in the tune you have or the INPA software that may be disabling the O2 sensor?
DrLeadFoot
Tried rewiring the bank 2 O2 sensor...Still nothing. Ordering a new O2 today. Posted for reference on my to-do list. Seat bolster pump needs attention. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=429014

DrLeadFoot
Got an engine light due to the secondary air pump not being a contributing member of the s54 system due to its permanent vacation. Frank Smith sent over a new tune to take care of the problem. Uploaded it yesterday and 100% fixed the M3 after the motor swap just in time for the snow. Iceddragon
I hear this is an SMG E46, how's that treating you? I want to be in the market later this year and am undecided on manual vs SMG.

I want to be in the market later this year and am undecided on manual vs SMG. For how I use the car I love the SMG. I usually put on about 2500-3000 a month being a Realtor and driving all over SE WI. I lost compression and put in a "new" motor 2 winters ago. After the swap my SMG pump went bad. Then my gear selector rod bent on the install. So needed a new one of those. All is well now. With all the people swapping the 6 speed there are "cheaper" SMG parts available. DrLeadFoot
I'm a little excited for 10 years from now when I might have one of the few, cleaner SMGs around Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
B C
Most people never have to replace an S54 or diagnose an SMG system in their lives. But very few people get to daily drive an E46 M3 DrLeadFoot

But very few people get to daily drive an E46 M3 It is a true joy. Need a new drivers side caliper. Haven't checked the passenger side but might do that one as well. Apparently there is a required computer bleeding program for any e46. I really don't want a newer model BMW after the e46 as this one is tip toeing on the deep end of all computer everything. DrLeadFoot
150,900 miles: New driver side front caliper, new OEM front rotors, new PFC pads. Computer bled the ABS system and completely flushed system with new OEM BMW fluid. Right rear line had some air in it and the driver's side front did as well.
