    Much better.

Feels like I own an e21 again, instead of a big lump of metal that does nothing but sit around on jackstands collecting dust.

    So fellas I bought my first car. It's a 1999 323is.
I bought it from the ORGINAL OWNER!
Came with window sticker and a bunch of service manuals.
Whole suspension was replaced. Needs nothing but a seat belt buckle because an airbag light is on. Has 180k
I plan on replacing headlights, clear corners and such. Possibly m3 front bumper and definitely wheels.

Easy there cowboy. I think you're more excited about this stuff than I am.
The machine is at my shop space, which is 100 miles from where I live, so I only get to play around with it on the weekends. It's summer though, so there's other stuff to do on the weekends too. It'll be a month or two before I start to get the machine and the process dialed in. For the moment I'm happy just using whatever bits I got from the previous owner or picked up from the big box store to turn out some hobby-grade projects.

All I know is that I don't want to get to low on The "HOT" scale, because that's a "NO GO".

Finally got the software for the router on Thursday.
First project finished. A Hoffmeister kink inspired paper towel holder.

I'm still on the learning curve with the machine, but it seems to work alright. Not as precise as I would like for routing, but better than the poorly-setup Shopbot machine they had at FVTC.

I was just trying to figure that out.  I don't know the requirements or the size limits, but I'll give it a try...

A coat of paint and some wheels and that will be a $14000 car.

Finally got around to getting the pics of the suspension off my camera and made some eye-infecting visual AIDS.

Also got some raw materials to work with now, so hopefully I can get back to work on the car this weekend. Oh, and another engine to replace the Automotive Supply enhanced unit that's currently in the car. Thanks Industrialsized!

Someone on the saaabaru forum is swapping the engine/trans from a crashed focus st into a transit connect. Looking pretty awesome so far.

Picked up a CNC router table a couple weeks ago.

Still waiting to get the license for the software to run it transfered over from the previous owner, but in the meantime I decided to test the machines capabilities. I intend to pay for the machine by building bed-of-nails fixtures for circuit boards. Long story short, this requires drilling very small holes in fiberglass or plastic at very precise locations. I had some 0.024" drill bits laying around, so I poked some holes in a piece of 1/8" hot-rolled steel that was laying around at the shop.

    Sweeet.

    Ford Transit Connect.

If you could get one with a manual, I'd probably buy one...

Rented this in April, I believe list price is in the $5000-5500 territory.
Getting back on my hybrid bike was like going from a baja truck to a nissan hardbody
Even if I did trail riding 10x a year it would still make sense financially to rent a top end bike like that (until you wreck at least)

Getting back on my old bike yesterday was a little tough after riding a $2300 rental bike last weekend. That being said, i still can't justify spending that much money on a bike that doesn't even have an engine...
Where the dirt bike trails at?
