Cramped up on a commuter train after a long day at the office, Hans dreams of purchasing an automobile.

A strict diet of beer and bavarian creampuffs causes Hans to have trouble fitting into most small cheap cars.

Fortunately for Hans, BMW designers were thinking about the fat poor people of Bavaria

The BMW Isetta was born, with an engine mounted behind the driver for more Frontal Gut Volume (FGV) than any car in its class

With the newfound freedom and comfort of the Isetta, Hans, and other fat poor people, begin to let the thought of owning an automobile made by a prestigious marque get the best of them. A superiority complex forms and there is now no longer any time to park their automobile properly. The stereotypical douchebag BMW parking job is born.

I'd love to own one, but I have no space to store one, nor do I have the discretionary funding to purchase one.

However, growing up I did get to bomb around on a Ski Doo Olympic 320. 318ccs and 18 massive horsepower!

mkoepp reacted to BenDem in DIY subframe bushing puller available for loan
I recently made and sucessfully used a DIY subframe bushing puller on my e30.

It's based on this thread I found on Bimmmerforums:
    http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1389953-A-better-subframe-bushing-puller

    I hope I don't need it again.

If others want to use it, they are welcome to borrow it.  Here's how I'd like it to work:

I've loaned out the modified pitman puller and a pipe-cap (used for pressing in new bushings).  You'll need to supply your own 2 jaw gear puller to complete the package.

Once you are done with it, you can either hang on to it until someone else needs it, or return it to me.

All I ask, is as it makes the rounds if you have the kit, just post it here when you have it, when you are done with it, and who you loaned it to.  That way, I can track it down if I should need it in the future, and whoever else might need it can find it.

If you want to use it, just post a request to this thread.

If I've got it, and need to send it to you, figure on 8 bucks for shipping to anywhere in the state.  Paypal for shipping is preffered.

If you are getting it from someone else who is holding it,  it's up to both parties to work out shipping.  ( I think the way it's worked so far is the person who has it is paying to ship it to the next person...)

Keep in mind that whoever has it is responsible for returning it to me if I need it.

Boris3 just shipped the puller to CYoung, so the ball is in his court.

    Good luck!

Good luck man! Its a tough game finding shop spaces on the cheap. If you can find 3 other guys to split rent this place has been listing for quite some time when I looked around for spaces in the milwaukee area.http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/off/4549303072.html
I currently have 4 cars in my 1350sq/ft space and a tow dolley with room to work still.if you need help towing/moving your car some weekend, lemme know too.

454 at 700hp is a lot more reliable then a n54 at same level, also I assume that is on a low boost setting. TCD is making 5xxwhp at 9-10psi on a single turbo LS motor in his e28. Also hat the TI's but i would def rock this one.

I have a Snap on Mt2500 scanner and have the ability to scan and clear OBD1 and OBD2 lights and codes just as a shop can. I would like to become a more frequent member on this forum, as well as helping to make it better, even if it is something as small as this. So I am offering a free service to all WI BIMMER members.

As long as you come to me I will scan and erase any codes you have. I can make arrangements to drive to you if your car is immobile or not road ready, and do the same thing for a small fee to simply pay for my gas/time. I can scan all the way up to a 2001. This works perfectly on my 1993 325i as well as my buddy's 2001 325i.

Feel free to pm me if your needing something taken care of.

    Did you do it?

It runs a little hotter than I am comfortable with before the fan comes on, and the fan does not seem as effective as on my e36 so I put the mechanical fan and shroud back on.  I put the new shocks on the vert cover and trunk, now you just press the trunk button and it pops up by itself!

I put in the new CPS and it went well but the plug was opposite of the OE one, it fits fine but the cord does not route as nicely, probably a change so that it fits a wider range of applications.  No more flickering tach!

So back when we went on our vacation trip, at Mid America Motorworks I found a shift knob from a VW beetle late 60's to early 70's.  It looked awesome and was 18 bucks so I got it, It is leather wrapped over aluminum, the inside was 10mm threaded so I had to drill it out to fit the BMW shifter.  I used a 35/64ths drill bit (.546") and it fit just like an OE knob.  I didn't drill all of the way through so it has a stop when pressing it on.  The shift boot was a cheap ebay one, but for 12$ it isn't bad.  It is foam like on the backside but the trim ring fit well into the console.

    The Red Baron!

I also got the reverse lights hooked up, I had to remake the harness because the one I got was shredded up.  Next projects:  replace the nasty broken power antenna, fix the wobbly hvac fan switch, and install the new spoiler when it gets here.
