e12 complete restoration fun

as the title says i have been saying for a while i will get pictures up of the 530i well today is the day. this is my 1975 530i it has 80,000 original miles 4 speed manual. 

 

the good

its a car 

it runs if you hot wire it and vacuum feed gas in the intake 

has all trim

the clutch works

has cool wooden shift knob 

 

 

the better than good

 

it needs body work plenty of rust to fix

needs floor pans

needs trunk floor

need to rewire the car mice have tried but no success 

the brakes work as long as you don't need them

moss has taken control of almost every seal

the seats are nice and dry you can write your name in them

the mice made the glove box there bathroom

Oh nelly.  That looks like a lot of work.  Do you plan to restore to OEM or what is your goal?

 

Most likely I will go for oem maybe some minor modifications.

 

I know you love working on your own cars but you realize you could pick one of these up in great shape for like $2k, right?

Ha yea I do know but like you said I love doing the work. Bringing cars back from the grave is my favorite and there brand new afterwards.

 Jeff we suffer from the same disease haha, although you seem to make more forward progress then me
