Many things happened this weekend, and for awhile I thought the motor was toast. Though given all of this stuff I did get this picture, which has messed up lighting, but I still find it cool.

So it seems like the passenger front caliper is either seized, or there is still a ton of air in the line. The pedal is feeling okay, but in snow the car pulls hard left under braking. I shall try to bleed that side again.
Took it out for the first time, and went to get gas. Filling up a car from the trunk is a very amusing thing to do.

Stopped in some snow and took a pic.

I threw the old bumper on for the time being, just so it had something up front. I also wired up the lights because they are quite bright and convenient to have!

Did a touch of "ditch" banging with sir Spence that night as well, which is always amusing.

We are scheduled to get a lot of snow this weekend, so last night I started building an actual exhaust for it in hopes of having it "street legal" for the weekend.

I also need to get started on the new skidplate, but my indecision of frame lifting is making me hesitant on that.

This has been my scattered thoughts.

I moved into our engineering department finally instead of sitting in the improv cube that they had made. I don't know what to do with all of this space...

    Surprise! I bought another e30!
This purchase was very last minute, and involved driving to Chicago to grab it.

    1991 318i Sedan
~250k on chassis (ODO stopped at 230k)
    ~150k on motor
AW2 paint with tan interior (black driver seat due to tan seat needing repair, but was included)
Paint is in pretty good shape, and the body is surprisingly good. Car was in southern states most of its life according to the seller, which I can believe.
Nothing else about it is really that special lol.

As many of you may know my first car was a white 91 318i sedan, and I always had a thing for that car. So I decided to get another one! The plan to is get some suspension work done (original bushings) and fix a bunch of the little issues that it has. The motor was went through and has a lot of new parts, so that portion of the car should be good to go after I swap the temp sender for the ECU.

I would like to get this running well and the issues fixed so that this can replace my current daily driver (2010 Mazda 3s hatch 6spd)

Only one picture at this point.

I have worked on this very little lately, that or have just been doing stuff that takes a lot of time and doesn't look any different when done...

I have gotten the fuel lines ran under the car, and new lines ran where the fuel tank used to be and up into the trunk. I cut out the spare tire well and need to make a plate to cover that and provide clearance for the sump of the fuel cell. I will also be mounting the fuel pump and filter to the same area.

I also ran the brake line for the rear of the car through the trans tunnel, and back to the factory T above the diff. I hate hard lines is what I have concluded.

I also started slicing and dicing e90 and e36 tie rods to make something that will be long enough for the e46 control arm swap.

I plan on getting this back on the ground and driving by the end of the holiday weekend, so there should be more updates (with pictures) soon!

I know that is a pretty typical hobbyist welder. There are usually two at our shop lol.
I am not sure how much you would use it, so my suggestion may be a bit off base. But a Millermatic 211 is a very excellent welder. I used them a lot in HS for our supermileage cars, and learned to like them a lot. Once again, this is all based on your needs.
The miller handles are a bit nicer and more robust, and the 211 has switchable plugs so you can use it with 120v and 210v which I really wish I had now.
You get a bit more control over the .... well... controls as well.

    Cliff.
Hobart is very good and cost effective
Millermatic is excellent, and a bit more expensive.

I'm sure there are other options, those are just the two that I am familiar with.
