The Full Banana
Engine and trans are queued up and ready to go in after I get some work done on the e36. (The dirty stuff was just on for mockup and timing for flywheel indexing)

The Full Banana
Looking great! Excited to see this thing in person sometime. Thanks. I can't wait to drive it this spring! should have drawn a dick on the flywheel prior to assembly. Maybe I did. #secretsobscuredbythebellhousing Anyways, the engine/trans are in. I had to make a bracket to mount the power steering pump today, but didn't take a picture. Anyone know a good place to have custom power steering lines made up? Or should I just go the route of a compression fitting to AN?
Bassboy3313
Hyquip does all sorts of custom hoses, most even made while you wait. I would definitely check them out first. Looking good by the way!
Rowleym
should have drawn a dick on the flywheel prior to assembly. Someone engraved a dick on my strut tower.....

The Full Banana
Thanks guys! I'll crash a BMW meet or two in this car this summer... park on the street or something. I can't wait for the meet "season" to get going. Progress and such. In-fender wiring pretty far along now. Waiting for the intake manifold to show up to finalize all the wiring that will be hidden under that.
wasnt m3
Looking topnotch as usual! Can not wait to see this car in person!
The Full Banana
Thanks TJ Test-fit with the intake manifold. looks like the new fuel rail interferes with the strut brace, so that'll take some figuring. Freshened up (thanks DP) BRAKES These 17" RCs barely clear the caliper. Perhaps a bit close for comfort.
jc43089
I thought my brake setup was cutting it close. e46 330i brakes (325mm) with 16" contour reps. I have less than 1/4" clearance. From the pic it looks like tons of room for the caliper.
The Full Banana
The picture does look roomy, especially with the adapters on there. There is 1/16"-3/32" clearance between the caliper and the barrel of the wheel. It's VERY tight.
jc43089
On the bright side, it will be an automatic indicator if a wheel gets bent.
The Full Banana
Getting more things done. Mocking up the intercooler--not yet mounted. Intercooler pipes fitted. The Full Banana
Thanks, I'm going to use a e36 distribution block/positive terminal in the engine bay. Should be a nice little detail.
B C
I hope you make it out to the E30 meet on May 10th. This car is awesome
The Full Banana
If you guys don't mind me bringing a non-BMW, I'd like to swing by. We'll see though, that is two days before I take this car on a 35 hour drive to Portland, OR for a Volvo car show.
B C
That should be a great drive! Are you taking I80 or I90? Did you come up with that oil cooler bracket or is that original?
The Full Banana
We are just going to start figuring out the route now. At the moment, I have no idea... but I'm very open to suggestions! We will probably be stopping in Kansas City on the way out. That oil cooler is a factory piece from a mid-year turbo car. It fits rather nicely with the factory intercooler in place, but the endtanks on this one block it more than I would like. I may try a bit of ducting to direct air to it... or I'll eventually put an oil cooler below the radiator. I have an oil temp gauge so I can keep an eye on it (Not that it should present any problem).
The Full Banana
I'm tired and it's late so I'm not going to write much. I've been working on this a lot, and had help this weekend. A couple friends came over and swapped in the rear end from the wagon while I worked on other stuff. (oil lines aren't going to just hang there... have to wrap and mount them still) this one is for Dave. Goal was to start it today but that didn't happen because I was missing a few little bits and pieces that local stores didn't have. I'm going to get this thing legal to drive this week... it won't be long now.
jc43089
Looking great! Did it always have the remote oil filter?
