The Full Banana
Thanks guys, I appreciate it! It's a fun project, a whole lot of research, planning, and figuring things out yourself. Followed by making things yourself. And then remaking them better.Maybe I'll see some of you guys out at autocross this upcoming season. wasnt m3
Wagon was cool, but I'm really digging that coupe!
The Full Banana
Thanks! The coupe is a much nicer car. This was shipped over to WI from California about 8 years ago, and it has never seen snow. 100% rust free... which is quite the change from the wagon. I'm excited to get going on this one. I love the 2 doors, and was really lucky to get my hands on this one.

The Full Banana
Wow! Looks like one hell of a project. Definitely keep us updated on this one. Looking good so far! I'll drop pictures in here from time to time, but here is the dedicated project thread on the volvo forum: http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=284730 Tom are you going to swap the motor out of the wagon into the coupe? Yep! It'll get pretty much everything from the wagon. In a couple years I'd really like to put a worked over m50/52 in it and cram some air in it. Volvo redblocks are pretty capable little tractor motors that can provide a lot of fun at minimal expense, but I really love pretty much everything about the bmw inline 6s. Here are a few pictures:
YoungCR
Stock removable core support? Jelly! I need to design one for the front end damage prone E28s
The Full Banana
Yep! Some of the different years have a few spot welds to drill out, but on this car I just unbolted everything. More pictures. 50ft2 roll of Fat Mat Rattle Trap, and 100ft2 roll of Mass Loaded Vinyl showed up. Got started on the passenger door.

The Full Banana
More progress this weekend. Copied and pasted from my project thread. Measured and cut out the strut tower opening to make room for camber plate adjustment. Finally wrapped up the prep and sprayed the engine bay with Spray Max 2K epoxy primer. For an aerosol can, this stuff is pretty great. Then I pulled the dash out of the wagon. This is in way worse condition than I realized. Not sure what I'll end up doing with this. I'll be using some of the blue interior trim from the wagon for this car, so I tried out Duplicolor interior paint. Seems to be pretty good. The Full Banana
Been working quite a bit on this, but not much to show for it. The engine bay is finally done, save for a little wax. Steering rack cleaned up Dash stuff. I repaired the dash cover; just need to refinish it now. 240sxguy
I had no idea you could get epoxy primer in a rattle can. That's good to know. Cool car!
