Jeff
Very nice! Those X5's are great. I6 or V8? Ended up getting the I6 since it gets a little better mileage. It will be doing more highway driving and grocery runs (family car)
GB-335xiCoupe
Very nice. Yesterday I found myself watching YouTube videos and reading reviews on X1. The second generation 2015(?) or 2016 can be bought for around $24k used. Seems they depreciate very quickly. Which is good for guys like me who never buy brand new. patsbimmer1
The X1 is tempting but when i looked at one it didnt have any more room in it than my e90 and id actually say the e90 has more luggage space than the X1 unless you fold the back seats down. Jeff
So now the question is, is there anything I should take care of before it goes wrong on it?

It's an x5. Just open your wallet and wait for shit to fail! If it's a 35i then there's a good chance you'll do a water pump eventually. Jeff
I will be more specific, is there any preventative maintenance items I should take care of before the single digits hit and the snow fly’s. It has 104,000 miles and Is the 3.0L
B C
1) park car outside 2) get in cold car 3) assume the washer fluid can cut through the frosty windshield 4) frantically switch wipers off because your precious wiper blades are being wrecked by chunks of ice 5) watch wipers go through another cycle or two and not trust that they are turned off 6) try to turn wipers off again 7) realize they were off the first time you tried 8) watch the wipers get wrecked for another 4 or 5 cycles 9) post about it on local forum Jdesign, KaiserRolls, GunMetalGrey and 1 other

If you've got the active anti-roll bars i've heard that the servo tends to fail or parts of the auto leveling suspension will fail as well. Jeff
It is the N52 engine. So other then some suspension servos pretty good then
patsbimmer1
To my knowledge the N52b30 is pretty stout. I am pretty sure that does use the electric water pump which is a known failure but you don't necessarily replace that as preventative maintenance. Not as preventative maint, but I might suggest buying a spare of said water pump, and keeping it in the original box in the trunk. Look at ecstuning.com, print it out and then go to the BMW dealership and ask them to match the price.

Jeff
Alright I want to change fluids in the X5 and I have got to the power steering fluid In the manual it says CHF 11s The bottle on the car says ATF oil (assuming dextron III)? 1 dealer says CHF 11s Another dealer says ATF oil and it must be plain ATF? Not really sure what that is. Napa says CHF 11s What fluid goes in?
