Turns out this speed was super accurate.
45mph she really came alive, this wasn't too surprising as I have determined most ball joints are bad in the current axles. New axles seem to have better ball joints so that should help.

Did my first off-road adventure with it and holy crap driving manual in demanding off-road terrain is a wild time. I should be good at dancing after this!
Slipped a front wheel into a pond, whoops.

Try cleaning the contacts up, I have had intermittent e30 window switches and cleaning fixed them.  The full current goes through the switch and the arcing pits the contacts.

It is MY responsibility to protect MYSELF from idiots.  Not the government.  I HATE that the government made a law requiring seatbelts, I ALWAYS wear them, to protect myself, not to be protected by the government.  If I'M at risk then I don't go to places where I could be exposed.  This is all MY responsibility.  I do not need, not want the government to do it for me.
    That is the difference here.
Same thing with the people at the salon, people who are sick or think they are sick are asked not to come.  If they are showing symptoms and come anyway, they are asked to leave.  Staff is wearing masks and in some cases face shields, clients are required to wear face masks.  If a staff member feels to uncomfortable with the situation, they are not coming in.  This isn't racket science.  This is personal responsibility, and part of that responsibility is understanding that there are idiots out there and doing what you need to, to mitigate risk.  If I was 97, asthmatic, and was going through Chemo, my risk would be a lot different than if I was 27, and healthy.  Sure, bad things can happen to anyone, but it's about managing risk as you see fit for yourself.  As soon as the government tries to manage my risk for me, it's a no-go.

Polished the insert and hit the rubber part with a coat of paint. Cleaned up pretty well. Needs to fix a couple spots on the insert before it’s complete.
Drilled holes in the trunk lid for the studs. It was hard to gauge how the spoiler would fit without being able to lay it flat on the trunk lid. Came out well, still need to drill or cut a hole on the underside of the trunk lid to access the far outside screws. I think I might use a combination of some double sided tape and foam tape(not exactly foam tape, but something of that nature) to close the gap at the ends. Guess will see how much the far studs will suck it closer to the lid with nuts on them. You can see how I tried to get the gap that ran the length of the trunk tighter. As a result of this, the radius of the spoiler leaves somewhat of a gap at the ends.

Finally got around to replacing shocks and struts on my daily, and threw some H&R sport springs while I was at it. Ride height is pretty ideal now.
Not sure if I’ve mentioned this car here, but it’s a 2011 535xi sport that I picked up a year and a half ago.

I was going to say that the standoffs will break, but I'm going going to revise that and just say that they might break.
    Anyway, it could be worse.

Went on adventure today. Took a bus up to Appleton to collect the car. I didn't really have a plan B if anything went wrong with the car, other than calling a tow truck. Battery was flat when I got there. Luckily Sam was at the shop and gave me a jump. Good news is I got the car back to Sun Prairie without it blowing up or falling apart. Bad news is I think the bus driver had the 'rona, so I'll be self-isolating for a few days... no bueno.

Brian - You started this post on May 8th at 1:54 pm.  This is well within business hours.  I see our little chat didn't help.  Please submit an action plan on how you will improve your behaviors by Saturday at noon.  Include 5 short and long term goals that I will provide you with.  We will circle back and connect in my office via talkbot.

I an amusing turn of events where the mill I was going to had an issue and delayed their outage by one day I was able to go snag a Chrysler 8.25 and Dana 30 with 4.10's in them for $400.
The stock 3.07's with 33's is a brutal combo, so this will be a welcome change! This is the exact same set of axles in my Jeep currently which is amusing, but this is just like swapping a diff in an E30! with more weight and parts...

Kind of like how the WI Supreme Court just ruled that the safer at home order was unlawful
FWIW many cities have already implemented their own version of safer at home orders, mine included, that extend beyond the original order by a few days

Did the LED light conversion kit on the car today. Just the interior, trunk, and number plate ones. Was able to do one number plate light as one of the screw heads was completely rusted. Was doing this at my house so didn’t have access to all my tools. Getting the license plate light on my check panel, not sure if this because there is a halogen and LED, or because the LED doesn’t register with the car. Had the same thing happen on my E46. Considering switch back because the light on the panel bothers me.
Interior dome lights are a little surgical for my liking, but do a much better job lighting the car. For the minimal amount of time they are on, it’s fine. The ash tray ones I wasn’t able to change as the LED stalk was too big for socket.

Been a little bit distant here but figured I'd give you guys a little bit of a hint as to what I've been up to lately. Plan on a build thread sooner than later. Recently re-swapped my LS e36 m3 with a built ls1 and some other goodies. I promise more details soon, just need to finalize some tuning.

Detroit auto locker in the rear and electric locker in the front.
I anticipate running Lokka lunchboxes front and rear in mine once I settle on a pair of axles.

Sadly my shocks didn't show up in time for a shakedown run on a friends property, but we took the roommates jeep on its first voyage with locking diffs.
These videos well showcase why I got rid of the diesel in lieu of something that can actually go off-road.... or at least that's my excuse!

    UPDATE
Finished up the shaved shifter trim by trimming around the handbrake and then painting. I used some paint that is pretty close to the dash trim color but its not perfect.

Next I finally found something to do with the hole in my dash that had a battery cut out in it (that was from the sedan).
Got this really nice usb charging port on Amazon. I chose this once since it has a power button feature, I wired it to the original power outlet wires so I didn't want it to always be on like the factory one.
    Before

    installed

    Turned on

Next I did some repairs from damage.
Last season I ripped off the underglow and never got around to fixing it lol. So since I had to respray some undercoating where the cage bases are welded in it was a good time to fix the underglow.
Replaced 2 of the strips and resecured everything.

Next I decided to try and shave the M fenders.. luckily I only tried on the passenger one. Even though I went slow and tried to disperse the heat I still warped it 🙃.  I tried to fix it with filler and its better, but still not good.
Here's the only 2 photos I took since I got really discouraged.

    Thats it for now.
