probleMchild
Hey guys, this is my first time using any kind of forum. I have a big project coming up so I thought I might as well make an account in case I have any questions that google doesn't answer for me. Bought my first car in 7th grade, first bimmer in 10th grade and been addicted ever since. I am in college right now for business. I currently own a 94 3.8 liter M5 84k Daytona violet with cloth interior, a 91 3.6 M5 109k with a STUPID clean motor in the process of being repainted black, a 2001 X5 3.0 that has given me nothing but problems, and a 1990 M3 shell soon to be S54 swapped. I don't buy anything unless it is a steal of a deal. I have had Audi's, Cadillac's, Pontiac's, BMW's, Bentley's, Mercedes, Volvo's, Porsche's, you name it. I am truly a BMW guy, though anything German is acceptable in my opinion. I hope to meet some new like-minded BMW enthusiasts. Feel free to ask me any questions, I know I will certainly have a lot of questions myself. Thanks for reading. Rowleym

probleMchild
Congratulations! I can not wait for school to be over and for my life to start. I only take out the 3.8 on special occasions. Trying to keep miles off it. Bought it with 80k, its about to have 85,000. I drove it 30 hours straight home to Oshkosh from Seattle Washington at 100 mph with zero hiccups!! Didn't even see a cop on my way home lol. It was perfect. Easily one of the funnest times of my life. Cruising through the mountains in a euro spec M5 with one of my greatest friends, Pasha, was definitely a dream come true. The e30 M3 was just bought yesterday. It sat in a pole building for the last 10 years. I'm very excited to get that project started!

probleMchild
Thanks man. I'm grateful for everything I own. I thank the lord everyday.. Bimmers are just infinitely better. It's more of an addiction than a hobby at this point. B C and probleMchild
CMart
What's the story on the E30? Local? Did they know what they had?
Bassboy3313
Welcome! Nice find on that e30 m3 for sure!
probleMchild
Thank you. Yes it was local and he knew what he had. He had 3 e30 m3's(2 now), a 3.8 m5, and a couple 3.6 m5s too I believe he said. He used to have 5 e30 m3s but scraped two shells 10 years ago when they weren't worth much. It's like scraping an e36 m3 shell today..He got mine from Louisiana after Katrina hit. It has salvaged title sadly from waterlogged engine that he also scraped. He claims the car to never been in a wreck. He rewired the entire car from one of the part m3s that he scraped. It was a 40 thousand mile car so all the wires, brake booster etc. are in excellent shape. I'm going to see about getting it inspected and getting the title "Rebuilt" atleast. 130k on the body. 1 spot of rust in the corner by the rear driver side window. He got it in 2005 so directly after Katrina, he had it shipped here, gutted the entire car and pressure washed it to get all the saltwater off...but he missed a spot lol. Then it sat in a pole building for 10 years collecting dust till yesterday. Picking up the S54 for it today hopefully.

wasnt m3
Welcome, nice collection you're starting! Why the color change on such a rare m5?
probleMchild
It was black and it's getting resprayed black.. Purple one is staying the same. The one getting painted is only a 3.6 liter. The euro M5 I just found on Craigslist one day I randomly was looking at Seattles postings for BMW m5's and I came across the 3.8 purple monster. Always had been a dream car of mine. I ordered a plane ticket for me and my friend the next day. We flew out and drove it home. Took a chance on that one and I'm glad I did. wasnt m3
I see, didn't realize that you had 2. Is the Daytona violet car the one that was for sale locally about a year or two ago?
probleMchild
Got it from Seattle Washington.
wasnt m3
I understand that. There was a very similar car for sale locally a year or two ago. Figured there couldn't be to many Daytona violet m5's around with a 3.8 engine. It'd be interesting if it were your car. http://m.ebay.com/itm/380862399035
probleMchild
Mine is a 1994. That one is pre-facelift. That was a stupid good deal for 12k though. I want to own ALL of the 3.8 m5's.
