  1. Passing along the deal that @Jdesign passed to me, I can't logistically make it work and it would cost me too much to transport and store the car from Decorah, IA

1993 M5, guy is willing to sell for $4000 obo, @Jdesign had him at $3500 and maybe he'd take less. Heres what I have gathered from chatting with the guy

    • Has rusty jack points but little to no body rust, paint looks decent (big dent on door)
    • Has spark but no fuel (just replaced fuel pump)
    • potentially a blown head gasket (because the oil looks murky to him)
    • Has motorsport door handles, rare M-technic mirrors,  M5 throwing stars
    • Has been sitting in a dry garage for awhile

Car is complete. My thought was this is easily a $6500-7000 part out. Would love to see someone here get a deal. Pretty sure just the mirrors, bumpers, door handles and wheels would fetch $3000 rather quickly.

Edit: I ended up buying it 😬

I think @Jdesign was interested. I think it had a blown motor.

Thats alright, it's somewhere in a dark garage weeping for a cast iron 5.3 😢

    jk

Pretty sure a s38 rebuild costs like $8000, but every other e30 m3 I see has a s50/52 in it. I'd enjoy something like that instead of it rotting in a garage.

The blown motor and trans is probably worth a few grand aswell

  3. I have no idea what thread or what member this was in but like 6 months ago someone posted that they found a non-running e34 m5 in Minneapolis. It was in a garage and looked like it had body damage.

Any info on that or why nobody here bought it?

@straight6pwr also had some interesting experiences with his gauge cluster this morning per his Instagram. I for one have not set foot outside my building and don't plan to until 3:00 tomorrow when I have class.

Damn they didn’t cancel class? uwec was canceled today and tomorrow. Where do ya go?

I got a 55-200 MM zoom lens for Christmas. Does anyone on here have a zoom lens that they use? I have my kit lens and a 50 MM. I think this zoom would be good for at the track use.

I guess if there is anything else in this price range that would be a better options I can return this one.

If you wanna ball hard you could get a IS 70-200 f2.8L. I had one for a while and it takes incredibly sharp photos at f/2.8 (more depth of field wide open and low light performance) and the image stabilization is a huge help when zoomed to 200mm

hope it works! bets on if its stolen?

Works great, pawn shops submit all serial numbers and photos to the police and hold items for a month before selling them (I think). I feel comfortable having bought it in a retail store, but if it was stolen I’d feel very bad.

  7. I'm just going to say that I hate how much automakers change designs now. They are constantly redesigning front and rear ends of cars literally yearly. I hate that shit. Seems like every day I see another car that has been completely face-lifted after just a year (not just slightly updated)

I know that it's good for business, I just hate thats how it is. New stuff doesn't satisfy anyone for more then a year now.. They change car designs like iPhones

Heres a quick example that comes to mind because I work with Elantras so much

    Lets compare 80s/90s bmw now

    1992 3-series

I know that the e30, e36, e34, e39 etc. received several small design changes over the years, but not complete front/rear end overhauls yearly.
