I agree, the ad is a bit oddly written, but from what I’ve seen lately the price doesn’t seem super unreasonable. Maybe a grand to two high, but manual 128i’s with the sport or m sport package are very hard to come by, especially with low miles and good color combinations like this one. This is one of the nicest I’ve seen recently, and it’s actually semi-local to us which is also uncommon, it seems like there’s more of them out west or down south.
For reference, a non-sport 6spd 128i sold on BaT recently for $16k, so viewed in that light this car is a steal.

I got this epic BMW key to hold my keys! This will be perfect to replace the Chinesium plastic one I have currently. Thanks Santa!
For scale the roundel looks to be the size for a hood emblem.

if you build a stadium in a toilet bowl, even if its made of solid gold, you still have to wade through shit to get to it.

REKIII reacted to Jdesign in FuturisticConcept Art BMW E36 with a V8 on a bottom dollar budget
I havent posted on this site in awhile but I did manage to go out and about with this thing. It drives really well surprisingly with the big wheels and welded diff. I even managed to (painfully) drive it to Milwaukee and back. I will need to add some clearance to the rear quarters yet again as it rubs when the suspension is compressed hard in the rear.
I would also like to add that it still does massive burnouts with the big wheels.

I’ll take a look there. I have to be careful because I get too deep in things like that and it makes me rethink all my life choices and convince myself I need to tear down my garage and start over.
I found this example that I like.

he had a trickle charger on every car, it looks like. serious car guy stuff.
also, from the news story:
seems worth noting in a search and seizure of millions of dollars of property, drugs, and illegal weapons.

Once I get my lotus rolling again (maybe next year, maybe 2025) I'll see if you want to do it. It's black so it shows everything. Thanks!

I know, I know, I know, I moved and abandoned everyone, but the car and truck both have WI plates so it kinda counts, right?
The real reason is to keep track of things, and this forum format is pretty slicks.
So, I bought another E30. Like any logical man I made sure to buy one that was thousands of miles away, and too low for any sanely priced shipping company to touch.
Took my truck to WI to say hi to a few people, fly out to CA for work, then fly back to WI so I could load up the car on the trailer and head home with it. Nothing like a 4,000 mile round trip to grab a car!
So the real question here is; why?
This is a car that has been mentioned from time to time, a handful of you know it, but never had much presence on the internet or in person. This is the car that a friend purchased shortly after he saw me rebuilding my first E30 and thought it looked cool. I've been working with this car since day one, and know the details on all of it, so minimal surprises.
He's owned the car for around 10 years, and it has seen an M10, M10 turbo (shortly), M50, and the current setup. It has been the bastard child of many projects, but what I really wanted was the current drive-line.
Car Details:
1984 318i
Rear euro bumper on, front in the car to be put on
full late model brake swap
houndstooth / black leather interior
Koni adjustable suspension, poly throughout the whole car for bushings
M3 steering rack
Engine Details:
S52 OBD1 Swapped
11.5:1 Pistons (bored over)
MLS Head gasket (.01" taller than stock to compensate for block and head decking)
Shrick Cams
Bavarian CNC port and polished head
Upgraded valve springs
Solid lifters (?)
M50 Intake manifold
Riot Racing big bore throttle body
3.5" Euro MAF
24lb injectors
Turner Underdrive pulleys
ARP hardware throughout
Ceramic coated headers, full stainless exhaust from Mr. Asparagus's NA setup
Needless to say, the car can really get out of its own way.
We rolled the car across a scale a year or so ago which was very similar to how it sits now, and the scale showed 2,400 lbs. Lightweight NA power is a whole different ball game from what I've known.
The car needs plenty of clean up work as it has been "neglected" for many years, a lot of the finer details are not in a way that I appreciate.
I'm excited to be back behind the wheel of an E30 that will actually be enjoyable to drive (the diesel noises were cool before, but the rest was strongly mediocre).
Until next time!

REKIII reacted to Partiallypurple in 1993 BMW 318i- blue on blue - 127k miles
Thinking of selling my 1993 318i. This car was originally owned in Germany by a marine from 1993-2001. The car was in 2001 brought back to America in New Mexico. It was then brought to Wisconsin by the same guy and parked immediately in 01’ till I bought it last winter. The car was parked due to a tree falling on the front end. So the hood was replaced along with the nose panel and fender. The car is a CLEAN title car.
Pros-
127,XXX miles on a 1993
Super rare mairne blue interior in very nice shape.
Super rare style 26 wheels - you can barely find pictures of these wheels on the internet.
Less common maritiusblau metallic paint.
The car is a BMW individual
The quarters and body of this car are 100% rust free. (Besides the front fender, there are tint bubbles, and the nose panel has some small bubbling in spots, but easily replaceable)
The underbody is in amazing shape, almost no rust at all
mtech 2 wing
Cons-
The car needs AC
The sunroof assembly needs to be fixed, it’s off track
Needs tires
Headliner sagging
Drivers corner light socket wiring tore - Would include the new socket.
If you’re looking for an old bmw to clean up, this car has potential to be a really cool, and really clean car. It just needs some TLC, and I don’t have the time to give it what it needs. I’m asking $4000, which I think is a very fair price. CD43 radio is not included, will come with a fitting 90’s pioneer. I’ve driven this car from Milwaukee to Connecticut and back and i would trust it going anywhere.

REKIII reacted to gilber33 in Non-BMW Stuff on a BMW Forum
I’ve been driving it to work for the past couple weeks and the power steering seems to be fine. I bought one of those home alignment kits with the plates and tape measures and got pretty close to a good alignment. Needs some real minor adjustment. But all in all, it’s been very enjoyable!
The night mode on the new iPhone seems to work pretty okay. Have some condensation in one of the headlights, so I’ll have to pull that out and reseal it. Save that for this winter or something.
We also have some basement walls at our house!

You are saying that you are OK with being a casualty if it means the economy stays open and you would view your death as being for the greater good of the nation?
