Just a couple more things to bolt on and hopefully the engine/trans will be in its new home this weekend.

Painters tape is strong enough to hold on the Group 2 flares=)

Bassboy3313 reacted to Earl in My name is Earl, and I have a Stainless Steel bolt fetish =)
I then wiped down the friction surface of the flywheel (don't mind the two stains, happened when the flywheel was cleaned after being resurfaced) and installed the clutch
Put the clutch fork and throwout bearing in the trans
Laid out the new hardware
Then slide the trans on and bolted it down without any hiccups
Trying to plan out what to do next. I want to get my battery cable routed to the hatch and my pressure gauge lines ran so that I can throw the carpet back in the car. I also want to get all of the brakelines routed in the bay before the motor goes back in. I would also be doing the rest of the brake lines at this time.

You should reschedule the wedding. The e30 picnic only happens once a year!

Well I got more accomplished last night before I fell asleep under the car somewhere around 3am. I managed to get the diff cover off, blast it, clean it, paint it, put a gasket in there (there wasnt one at all :/), and bolt it to the subframe.
I installed new axles because I messed up the boot on one of them and it was cheaper to order a set then use the rebuild kit anyways. So I returned the rebuild kit and ended up with these bad boys
Installing them was a bit of a challenge since I wanted to put them on outside of the car. I used two Allen keys with the new hardware I bought and held the axle in place with one while I use the other key to torque the other axle into place.
The result was very satisfying though
I then managed to BY MYSELF raise the sub frame into the car with two dolly's, a floor jack, two jack-stands, and some misc wood. I only have a few pictures here as this was extremely hard by myself. I could have waited for help, but I was anxious to get it together.
In the end, I managed to get it installed and the drive shaft bolted up. I had to wedge the sub frame studs back through the holes behind the interior panels, slight pounding and yelling ensued. I also installed the new sway bar links(while I laughed and made jokes about the cute sway bar that most likely does nothing anyways) and also ran all the new stainless brake lines, and bolted the ABS sensors and Ebrake cables back into place. Somewhere along this process is where I fell asleep on the comfy Creeper and woke up confused around 4am. I will take pictures when I finally install the brakes and power bleed the system very soon!!!

Nah. Thought about it, but OEM is good enough for me.
Tonight I got the valves adjusted, intake manifold installed, valve cover installed and got the exhaust manifold fitted

Got the oil filter housing installed & clocked to clear the manifold, fuel rail and injectors installed, oil distribution block put on and the turbo oil feed line ran. Started fitting the turbo oil drain line too. Just have to cut the braided line to length and attach the other fitting.

That was my opinion. We have 2....that will be all.
Kids are a pain. I definitely agree with not wanting them. I like mine, but I hate most others, hahaha

Too late. Already drilled the hole in pan and secured the thru-wall sealing fitting. Got the wire in the o-ring grooves, which turned out to be pretty tedious getting the wire ends filed down and touching.
Installed the first oil pan gasket with crank scraper as well as oil pump.
Finished up with the second gasket and the pan. What a huge PITA to install the pan bolts with two gaskets, crank scraper and pan to line up!
Time to take the triumph out for its first ride of the season before the Wisconsin game!
