I’m in Cincinnati and am half tempted to pop by EAG, but I think they’d just shoo me away.

Absolutely do it! They are cool people and it will give you insight as to why they can charge what they charge. FWIW, the rarer stuff is in an offsite storage warehouse.

  2. All kidding aside, I have a long list of cars that I want, but what you want and what you need are two different things. There are a few non-car-related goals i’m aiming for that influenced my decision to sell and once the dust settles i’ll see where i’m at and what makes sense at that point.

  3. Forgot to update this thread.

Decided to store some drugs purchased from a very seedy location in new berlin under the valve cover since the crankcase vapors are supposed to throw off drug-sniffing Kaisers.  I think one of the meth crystals bent a valve stem because cylinder 6 now has low compression. I didnt want to mess with it and figured id screw someone over while I could.

Also once your settled into the car, sign up for some autox stuff to safely learn how the car acts when pushed.

the sum of that cars parts should make for a pretty capable car in that environment

    Disagree.

I recently installed Morimoto 6000K headlight bulbs. It’s more of a street racing/roll racing car than something you would want to push too hard on a racetrack

  5. What consoles/systems do you have?

Which racing games do you play?

Who would be interested in having regular group races if we could find a common denominator? I believe a few of you already do. What would be the best game for online racing amongst friends?

    Currently:
    -PS4

-GT Sport, Project Cars, Assetto Corsa

-Interested in upgrading console/system if enough people have  something else

  6. Here is the plus-side though: More practice pulling the manifold while the engine is in the car will increase your confidence in doing any future maintenance items that require it (Hopefully there are none).
In my E30 ownership experience I had been into almost everything on that car to the point where swapping a diff or pulling the driveshaft was child’s play. Hope pulling the manifold becomes almost second nature like that for you.

There is a very real mental-aspect about wrenching. When you don’t have the pressure to cobble together a repair to be able to drive to work on Monday, the challenge can become enjoyable.

  7. I don't claim to be an elite driver who could host professional coaching sessions for the next generation of prospective Drivers Ed instructors. I just drive the roads and try not to get in anyone's way. Can someone please explain how to navigate 2 stupid and contradictary intersection scenarios encountered in Wisconsin?

     1) Controlled 4-way intersection with right turn yield sign

    2) Controlled 4-way intersection with right turn stop sign

I could be either car, the Limerock Orange car turning right on a green light (with yield sign) or the Yas Marina blue car turning left on the green light.

I read the WI drivers instruction book. Here are the conflicts.

    A) Left turns yield to  vehicles approaching from the opposite direction (I agree)

    B) Yield sign means you must yield the right of way

    C) Stop sign means you must come to a full stop. You can go only when it is safe to do so.

What I observe in the wild is that people typically yield and people typically stop. But why?!?  Why not just save the money on the signage and default to point A above?   I have a feeling that the correct answer is that on a green light you still have to yield and still have to stop, but it just overcomplicates things when the world can operate simply on point A where left always yields to right.
