'never' is a long time.  You are young and very ambitious.  As you get further in life you will see how things change and things you never thought were possible, all of a sudden become within reach or worthy of goal setting.
I won't bore you with the story of my first 39 years of life (see I'm old), but my outlook today is wildly different than it was 20, 15, or even 10 years ago.

Today was pure joy! I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to participate in this track day. Everything was perfect!
Session #5 was a fantastic finish to the day.

Driving home was even kinda neat. The bluetooth connection on the car picked up a phone call from my wife as I had the frigid AC flowing and cruise control set. I know there are a lot of new cars that are capable on track, comfortable to drive, and still offer amenities, but it is a sweet experience to be able to “have it all” to an extent. Another surprise was the fuel economy. I didn’t even use 2/3 of a tank. Many were astonished

welp, I finished some projects finally.
i used a 3rd cluster to steal the display LCD and finally got the cluster 100% working again
glued one of the door panels back together
    got the ebrake unseized
    new console surround installed
aux pump and heater valve rebuilt and installed in the car. new coolant added.

Steering components 100% replaced. new idler arm, new tie rods, new center drag link. 55mph shimmy is finally gone again.

the remaining three brake calipers (replaced one in spring) all seems to be at different levels of 'stuck', so I just replaced everything.
bottom of the ocean or winter wisconsin car? I think the partial seizing led to extra heat which accelerated the rust on these.

    before:

    new parts:

    after:

then, I took some pictures to be used for selling the car:

then, before I could blink, the car was sold. gonna miss this one, we had a lot of great adventures.

I have done a good job of leaving this thing alone, largely due to the fact that I didn't work for a couple months. But now I'm back at it!
Drivers side light works fine, passenger stops working when you have it setup as normal.
Plugged passenger light into drivers plug, works great. Plugged it back into the pass. side, doesn't work.

Tried a footwell module (FRM) reset with ProTools, but that didn't do anything, nor did the reset short fault.

So I think this means I need a new FRM in the car to make things work properly, and it looks like I should be able to use ProTools to adjust the VIN on a new FRM.
For the time I have just disabled the adaptive headlights (which I like and want to make work) and the bulb checks for the headlights so they stop  yelling at me all the time.

The tires are getting low on tread, and the standing water on the roads here makes that an unpleasant time. Tires shortly!
But like, who buys tires for stock wheels?!

As I begin to increase the boost in this car, the first thing I want to address is the charge pipe. The stock plastic charge pipe is prone to cracking and breaking with increased pressure. Since I don't want to be left stranded on the side of the road, I decided to upgrade the charge pipe right away.
There are a ton of options on the market for charge pipe, blow-off valves and diverter valves, but I chose the BMS aluminum charge pipe with a TiAL BOV. In my opinion, this is the best bang-for-your-buck option available. It fits great, has a durable finish, two NPT bungs, includes all the proper hardware and a genuine BOV.
If you're starting to mod your N54, I wrote a detailed article about what to look for when shopping for a charge pipe. Check it out here: The Ultimate BMW N54 Charge Pipe & BOV Guide
I also filmed a video demonstrating the whole installation process with a few tips/tricks along the way.
I'm very satisfied with my choice and don't think there is a better option at this price point. No more worrying about the stock pipe exploding, plus the sound of the TiAL valve is perfect. Now I can continue modding this car!

Catching up on people's build threads today after being absent for at least 6 months, and realized this hasn't been updated in well over a year.
The car went on Ohlins R/T this spring with some GC camber plates and I got rid of the factory ZCP wheels in favor of BimmerWorld's replica - the TA-16 wheels. This was mainly to accommodate a 275/295 tire setup properly, while still retaining a very factory ZCP look. The drop on the car is modest as always since I don't slam my cars, and the Ohlins retain a quality ride on public roads.

I also installed a BimmerWorld oil pan which is just a factory pan modified to accept an oil dipstick. So I now have a dipstick in my E92 M3 which I think is pretty unique.

Last week I scooped OEM performance seats as many of you already know, and they are amazing. I've put more miles on the car in the last 4 days than I have in the last month. They look great, have incredible back support, and are modestly more comfortable than the stock seats. A few months ago I also swapped out the stock pedals for some BimmerWorld aluminum pedals, and I replaced the original wood grain trim with new OE aluminum interior trim. I had my detailer apply ceramic to it before install so nothing sticks to the trim and it shouldn't oxidize over time like you see on a lot of BMWs with factory aluminum.

These latest changes complete the car for me. I don't think there is much else worth doing to an E92 that is driven on the street. I very recently was considering moving on to the F80 platform since I found a super low mileage 2016 comp pack for like 55k in Sakhir orange 6MT, but then I found these performance seats and with the addition of those, combined with the supercharger and ability to have traction now, it's hard to see what an F80 can offer other than lower mileage. My weekend cars are usually on a 3 year average of when I sell them, and this October will mark 3 years with the E92. The V8 is still impossible to beat for me so I am still planning to just continue driving this thing and replace the engine when it inevitably grenades.

Figured I would start a build thread for the M3. I’ve owned this car for about two months now and have huge plans for his car over the winter. I plan to do a period correct build and a “restoration”. This car is pretty rough around the edges in my opinion so I’m going to do a full respray of the Daytona this winter, and replace all aged parts with new OEM stuff. Trim/seals/any plastic. At the same time I’ll also be adding some proper quality upgrades to the car.
To start off, the car is a 1995 Daytona M3 that came with the Lux package/dove interior. I had boughten the car off of a local guy who had recently done a 1JZ heart transplant. It’s a VVTI JZX110 single turbo from a Mk2 chaser. The swap was done very very properly with all custom mounts and a custom harness. Still has the ZF trans. My plan power terrain wise for now is to keep it as is, as it’s plenty of power to have fun in and beat the crap out of. Maybe in the future I’ll go with a big single, but for now, I’m content.
The car is sitting on 1990’s HRE 527 2 piece wheels with hidden hardware, and BC coilovers. It has brand new OEM M3 calipers all around and Toyo tires. My first major thing I had done was I had a roll bar custom made out of chromoly for the car with beautiful tig welds. While this was being made I had ordered a MKAH Motorsports rear seat delete and wrapped it in Alcantara Suede. (This thing was a pain in the ass to get it to fit and was pretty bunk for $600) but I think it came out pretty good after all said and done. Other quick mods I’ve done in the past month or two include buying Recaro SE seats that I found for sale in Las Vegas brand new only used for a few drives ever. In my opinion a perfect fit, as the seats are from the 90’s and labeled as a “comfort sport” seat. -What m3 is all about. Earlier this week I had also boughten a Momo Recaro Special steering wheel that is also near new, a really awesome find from Australia. I plan to save the current blue fabric for if I ever sell it and re-wrap the center in black seat material to match the Recaro’s perfectly. Also last week picked up a CD43 Business CD to retain the OEM+ lookZ Other than that, the car currently has a ACS rear window spoiler, a BFI industries shift knob, and I’ve changed the interior to the black vinyl door panels and a armrestless center console. I have a million more things I plan to do in the near future and will be updating this as often as I remember.

Well, I went back to the drag strip the other day. Made a decent shakedown pass, well on my way to setting a personal best.

Then I snapped an axle. This is the 3rd stock axle that I've snapped.

I'm sick of throwing junkyard axles in it and driving like I'm on glass, so I decided it's time to give the car the parts it really needs.

This car came with a JB4 installed so I quickly added a bluetooth connect kit. This allowed me to update the very out of date firmware and gives me the ability to log and monitor everything from my phone. I have the same kit in my 135i and I love it.
I also stumbled upon a pretty cool app called Log Dyno. It allows you to upload a log and spits out a dyno graph. I was skeptical about how accurate it would be but it seems very close. As long as you enter the proper data and settings, it works very well. I filmed a complete video showing exactly how to use the app if anyone else is interested:
I did one log in map 0 (stock), and one log in map 1 with a small tapered boost curve.

The dyno graph exactly matches the boost curve and the numbers seem on par with other results. In my first-hand experience, the stock numbers are dead nuts on with wheel horsepower results from actual dynos as the N54 is rated at 300/300 crank horsepower.
For anyone interested in trying it out, I'd be curious to see others' results:
iOS download Google Play download That being said, I bought some used index 12 injectors for the car because the current original injectors are leaking. Bad idle on cold start, wet plugs, black smoke, etc. Going to do a DIY on these soon... then the modding begins.

Half of it showed up already, but it continues to flood in.
Everything has been removed in the rear except for the parcel shelf and the glued on sound deadening, etc. I am going to try to find some dry ice or freeze spray to break off that stuff.
The factory subwoofers. One thing I don't want to give up, a perfectly good sound system.
Yup! BimmerWorld is sponsoring some parts and I will say I'm impressed with the quality of everything so far. Excited to get things installed.
As far as the ARC-8s, we could probably work something out. I'm not changing the fronts... but if we struck a proper deal, I might be persuaded to get 1M-style front fenders and more concave front wheels.

I half-ass pre-loaded it for my 10.90 pass, but didn't at this outing. Too many things going on and I didn't do it. Turning two cameras on, talking to the cameras, turn on my Dragy and start capturing data, open my tuning app and start a datalog, turn traction control off, worry about cutting a good light in competition, etc.
