When do the cars come out of hibernation? I see rain early next week but I can imagine they will spray the roads with Salt/cheese brine/chemtrails afterwards though.

maybe not this saturday, but next? Hope so.

I usually wait for a few good rains, the forecast is making it look like it'll happen sooner rather than later this year though!

    Its going to be sweet.

Jokes aside, the week before flying out to get my wagon was agony haha, I got absolutely nothing done. I'm guessing you're planning to road trip the new ride home? I'm looking forward to getting some more details on this 'vette'

Okay. That makes way more sense. lol. I can have 8' boards sit right between the front seats and be completely in the car. And I was thinking there's NO way that my car is that much longer than yours.

On a side note - how much have all of your DIY projects gone up in price with the price of wood being fucked? I started on our basement and have bought somewhere around 50 2x4x10, 20 8'ers, and then a variety of green treated stuff and what I paid now is SO much more than what I priced out 9 months ago.

Lumber prices have gotten absolutely ridiculous! The 2x8's pictured there were the cheapest I could find and it was still over $100 just for those. The pressure treated stuff is even worse. I've gotten good at recycling what I tear out from elsewhere in the house haha

    Are those 10' boards?

It's 8 2x8x8' boards, they stopped right at the back of the front seats. I just noticed it looks like they went to the dash because I had 5 more 1x2x8' that I didn't need to have hanging out the back haha. I DID however bring home a couple 16 foot baseboards a couple months ago but forgot to take a picture. Those went on the dash and then out the hatch window another 8 feet haha.

It wouldn't start in the sub-zero temps we had for a few weeks which was annoying. The battery was replaced at the dealer not long before I bought it but I think it is a low cold cranking amp version as the car was previously in CA/NM. Now that the weather has warmed up it starts the car and holds a charge perfectly fine, which means I can ignore it till next winter lol.

Way back in October I swapped my winter setup to a set of 17x7.5 MSW wheels with Continental Wintercontact SI tires in 205/50/17 somewhere around 102k. The bigger wheels will clear the 335 brakes I have sitting in boxes waiting to be installed in the spring. Pretty happy overall with the new combo, road noise is definitely higher and the grip in the snow isn't quite as good the altimax's, but they're a bit less squirmy (maybe from shorter sidewalls) and I put together the whole setup for pretty cheap.

These would fit on my E30...

After seeing some examples, not my type.

Yup same fitment as style 5's. I think they look WAY better without centercaps (same with 16" style 5's unless you get those RS style waffles/hex nuts). I got my set for cheap at a junkyard and am planning to use them for track/auto-x wheels eventually

Went out wheeling the other weekend because a friend was looking to test out his Jeep.
It started with driving right into a river that was not shallow and driving down the bank a bit. We laugh after exiting and ask him what the heck that was about.
"It's usually just river rock along the bank, turns out it's water today!"

We then proceed to drive to a spot where we've gone winter wheeling up a mountain before, and it started snowing as we got closer.
We didn't see much for tracks going up, and this is a popular spot. Turns out that it had snowed many feet since the last people were up there!
The Jeep was a snow plow, and the only reason we did have snow rolling over the top of the 35" tall tires was due to the bumper pushing it to the side first. It was an awesome time!

I need to fix / scrap my broken ass Jeep lol. Ripped a brake line off it accidently on our new years day run up the same mountain, not to mention all the other issues.

It's snowing here today which is odd and reminded me of this. I also love seeing people play in the snow in the city here since it doesn't happen often. People sledding in the streets, quads / side by sides ripping around with sleds behind, just people out enjoying it. That and a ton of cars in the ditches haha.

That looks like a lot of fun, pretty impressive how it handles that deep snow! I've started to want a vehicle that goes over things vs. around them. I spent the last 3 days working on my brother's new-to-him XJ. They're a breath of fresh air compared to a BMW as far as access to everything. However, the mix of metric and english bolts all over the place is ridiculous...

I have factory upper strut mounts and IE3 springs. Once I get it in for an alignment this spring I can certainly come back and post a number for you if you would like.

Ah gotcha, for some reason I thought you were running coils/camber plates. Thanks! Good to know you can fit a decent tire without leaning them way in

Thanks bud I wish I would have taken a picture from the side. Car is back on jack stands now...

Any idea how much camber you're running in the front? I'm debating switching to this setup at some point for a number of reasons.

Plenty of room, just need the right offset!

Good info. I didn't want to risk the wheels not fitting with the 330i brakes.

For some reason I get no notifications of posts even though I have the notifications turned on. Is this a common issue with the forum?

Finally got the car on the ground. I approve. NO POKE!

Dang, that fitment is great, way better than e36 parts.
