Update: Was testing the wiring for the injector pins just now. Checked continuity between the injector clip pins and chassis ground, got nothing which is good. Then I tested continuity between the injector pins on the MS db37 connector and the injector clips. Db37 pins 34 & 35 tested good against cyl 2 & 4 injector clips. Db37 pin 33 tested good against cyl 1 & 3 injector clips, but db37 pin 32 was a no go. Hhmmm interesting. Took apart the db37 plug and unwrapped the tape around wires and found this for pin 32.

That wire for pin 32 popped out of the db37 connector pin, which is why continuity was zero. Getting closer! So now I just need to figure out how to get that wire back in and seated right and see if that fixes my issues.

Well good news!! I ended up buying a d-sub crimper tool and a d-sub extractor/insertion tool from radio shack. I was a bitch extracting the pin from the connector without the wire attached, but eventually got it with the help of a bent paperclip. when attempting to recrimp the wire onto the old pin, the pin broke in half. Went back to radio shack and bought some new pins. Crimped wire and inserted back into connector with tool. BINGO!!! Continuity on pin 32 is now golden. Put wiring back together, installed injector clips, throttle body and charge piping again and fired her up.

She runs amazingly smooth now with no more shutter! I am assuming that with the one wire connected to injectors 1&3 that they werent getting enough current to fire enough fuel, causing the shutter. Now I just need to retune everything since its running super rich  and i should be good to go!!

Plans have changed. I am taking my M30 and 5 speed out of my 533 and running the seta this winter. I figure it will be plug and play since the pedals are in it and the car had a M30. I plan on bringing this car to the party next month

Thanks man! Lots of thought, engineering, and custom work has gone into this setup. Yeah there were easier ways to do things, but my #1 philosophy is being different. Even if it means making things more difficult for myself, lol.

Haven't gotten over to the car yet. Will be this afternoon. I will update this pronto!

Finally after what feels like a bajillion times trying to get this fuel rail to stop leaking its actually stopped leaking. The metal that these rails are made out of just do not weld well. So I ended up cutting off fpr bracket and cup, drilling/tapping a large nut and welding that to the rail. Then I covered the entire area with 2 layers of jb weld and 2 coats of KBS rust seal paint.

    Leaking

    Fixed

While all that was happening, I kept my sanity by doing other things such as...

    Painting some emblems to match

And replacing US seatbelt/o2 sensor light with a blank piece

Now to mount the fpr, run longer hoses, put things back together and start tuning megasquirt! Calling on Snap!

After work I started on getting things back together. I put some fuel sealant on the fuel rail fitting. That needs 24 hours to dry before allowing fuel through it, so I starting on the fpr mounts.

I took the left over aluminum stock from the oil catch can mount I made, cut and bent it to shape, drilled some holes and done! Sprayed it all black and waiting for it to dry. Tomorrow I will run new hoses and put more back together.

Nothing too exciting got done this weekend.

I pulled the car out of the shop so that I could clean my area and the unoccupied section next to me in preparation for my new shop mates. I also did some rearranging. This took up my whole morning.

After that John and I went to Jakes to get some parts. I got one of his m20 flywheels so that I can do the m20 single mass/ lightweight flywheel conversion. I will be sending it off for machine work shortly. I also grabbed the front clip harness from his e36 parts car so that I can extend my harness and get it routed properly.

Other than that I took the doors off because I was trying to make some fasteners work for converting the final four fender mounting locations to m6. I found out that the hardware that I was trying to use wouldn't work. I tapped the old cage nuts for m6 instead and they work great. I should have thought about that before taking the doors off.

I also got my metal work/paint quote. If everything falls together properly the car will be heading to paint in about two weeks=)

My interior should also be here within the next week to two weeks=P

    Plastic gauge day!
Wet sanded the #1 journal with this new-ish 3M paper that is equal to 1200 grit and 5w-30 to get rid of the slight scratch that I could feel with my finger.

A little Vaseline to hold it in place.

Got this bad boy dialed in to 25ft/lbs and 55 degrees.

Looks to be .001!! Thank god

    For reference

Well, yesterday was a good day for me on the freeway. Although they are not BMW's I am sure some of you will appreciate them. Late morning I was cruising on the Triumph and noticed a Maserati Gran-Turismo in my rearview. These are the times I wish  Ihad a gopro on my helmet. That thing sounded sooo amazing! What a beautiful machine! Here is what it looked like tho.

Then, later in the evening I was driving the daily and caught a glimpse of this ...

Can you see it? Let me zoom in for ya ...

Yeah that's a fricken McLaren P1!!! Why in WI, who knows. But that is sick!!!!!
