Used the INPA software to bleed the clutch and gearbox shifter. Ran the programs and it went into R & 1. Got excited then went to start it and it fired up on the 2nd crank!!!!!

ignore brian, he's on crack like i mentioned before.
since when is real oem an accurate assembly guide? i suppose brian must have two stacked 5-lug front rotors on your e30 as shown in this diagram:

After some trial and error on the passenger seat, here is what 4 coats looks like.

After 3 coats it still had streaks from the cellulose sponge they say to use, so I blotted a 4th coat on. This helped a lot! There are still a few spots that need touchup but overall way better than wiping it on. I will remember that for when I do the driver seat. What a difference!

So I've been making oem replica decals for an IL guys AMG Mercedes the past few months and got the pleasure of talking cars with him. He sent pics of his car and asked about mine.
    His car:

After hearing that I am working on an e21 he got excited and sent me the 6 series he used to own and fully regrets selling it. The information he shared is pretty awesome. Here is the conversation...
Him: Do you have any classic or muscle car too?
    Me: I am building a late 70s BMW e21 group 2 actually.
Him: Nice!!! You gonna love my car, what I sold (bigger mistake in my life) 9 years ago. 1989 6 series wide body. Craziest car I ever owned. I wish I never sold that car. 44K original miles. Was like new.

Me: Holy shit!!! That thing is beautiful! That body kit must have been $$$$$$
Him: The thing is, that is not body kit. Koenig and Alpina made only 6 of those cars in 1989 for racing. It is an all steel body. The rear tire size was 355. Just two of these cars still around. One green one in Germany and this one in Illinois. Other 4 have been destroyed by racing. I bought that car for $4300 on federal public auction and sold 3 years later for $53K local. I could have gotten more if I wanted to deal with buyers from Germany.
I never knew something like this was ever created and it is stunning!! Anybody else know more info about this amazing machine?

Got the output seals and snap rings changed out on the new diff which was way easier than I thought. Scrap pieces of charge piping made it super simple to press out old and press in new seals.
I also thinned up some kbs and sprayed final coat of the entire interior and trunk of my car with my hvlp gun.

Word to the wise, don't let your air hose get to close to your torpedo heater. Scared the crap out of me when it popped.

Luckily I live so close to harbor freight I was able to grab a new air hose and get back in time before the paint left in the hvlp gun started drying.
I also drilled holes in my rear brace/battery holder and prepped it for install. Tomorrow I will get the rivnuts installed in the strut towers and bolt it in place.

(my dog photo bombed me with her bone)

Everyone knows that real race cars need that exact spot for mounting things like gauges that monitor super important stuff like CV grease temperature and GoPro battery life. Trust me, I'm basically an expert because I saw a spec e30 car on a trailer going the other way on a freeway one time.

Pretty lame picture, but did some tooling around in this last night.
It developed an idle surge that was 500-3k Rpm. Need to figure that out
It is pretty great at blasting through snow banks!
The tires are awesome in snow, but now I really do need an LSD or welded diff!

Gonna get out tonight (hopefully) and get some por-15 on the subframes and trailing arms and diff.
Also gonna try and finish cleaning up under the car.
Still not sure what I should put on the struts/knuckles. I'll have to see how the por-15 goes on elsewhere. Although I'll be waiting to get coils welded up before anything goes on them

so i really wanted to make a set of shorty headers, but after some research and experimentation, it just cant happen. so what i decided to do was emulate the style of this honda indy display motor, and just have short outlets.

so i'm making the flanges out of oak, and the tubes out of aluminum tubing. once together, i will spray paint them with some sort of metal-look finish.
here are the flanges being cut out:

    on the drill press

flange in place, measurements were correct!
