“I attribute my lead foot and persistent maintenance as contributing factors to its longevity,” says Tom Stokes. “With the exception of a little play in the gearbox, it rides like a 30,000-mile car, and still pulls like it did when I bought it sixteen years and 315,000 miles ago.”

    Gentlemen,
It has come to my attention that there are some among us who have fallen on hard times and need a bit of support while their circumstances improve.
Starting today, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for the @REKIII family. Donations can be made in person at the Black E46s of New Berlin satellite office

    2860 S 108th St,
    West Allis, WI 53227
*please no more than 3 dented cans per donation. Bulged cans must be within 10% of their original diameter.

These are some neat projects.  We finally finished out basement as well.  Bought the house 7 years ago.  Basement was sorta finished, but just very white-box-ish.  So after a couple years we added a bathroom, then demo'd the rest, then it sat until the end of last year.  Finally got moving and finished it.
Basically how it started last year....we have pics of what it looked like when we moved in somewhere.  The whole ceiling was dropped and had conduit everywhere.  In these pics, the ceiling is gone and I relocated all the wires into the joist like they were supposed to be.

Here I have a bunch of the bar framed in and the plumbing pretty much done.  Had to dig a sumpcrock into the floor then route everything overhead.  I hired someone to do the framing but did the electric and plumbing, just to keep the project moving.

Ran a second zone of HVAC too.

Opened up the stairwell and added stair lights.

Exercise was staying the exercise room so it became a temporary home to a lot of crap

It was not fun getting things down the stairs, but having it opened helped A LOT

The movie room stayed the movie room but we had to fix the back wall (left side in pic) and the ceiling got insulated and painted black.

I hired out the drywall too.

    Movie room sucessfully blacked out

Decided to add some stone walls:

    The wifes design pallet

It was a long wait on the cabinets, but they started to roll in.

    Tin/copper ceiling was tricky

Then added more stone and more tin:

Then the big wait was for the counter tops.  So we finished a bunch of the other stuff

Finally the tops came in so we could finish the back-bar....more stone and cabinets.  Haha

    Movie room got furnished

    Appliances

Crown to finish off the ceiling

    Finish work on the stairs

Then....the coolest part.  We unpackaged everything we had been storing for 7 years from our old house.

Got it all organized.  Installed my lights and shelves in the towers.

We are still working on some things.  Decorations.  I want to build a bar sign for between the 2 towers.  It was a fun/stressful/rewarding/expensive project.

Does automotive enthusiasm seem different to anyone else during the last year? I dont know if it’s just me, other hobbies, house projects, or what, but I think 2020 has been the year I have thought the least about cars since I was 6 years old.
All i’ve really been in the mood for is some Colonel Sanders cosplay and maybe a round of cribbage.

Do not grab the door piston on the Senna when trying to close the door from the inside. Almost broke my fingers off. In my defense it was dark and my first time closing the door and the bright green piston looked like a handle.

Nice! The new F150s are impressive trucks, I liked mine quite a bit. The little 2.7 EcoBoost could really scoot when you wanted it to, and I consistently got 22-23mpg on my work commute with the 33" KO2s, and 19-20 with the 35" Ridge Grapplers.

I've been on the fence about keeping the truck for awhile but after I had two Cayenne Diesels fall through due to dealer incompetence I have given up.  Along with the amount camping we do has proven it's useful to have the truck bed.  So now that i'm keeping this turd it can't stay stock.  First up is a set of wheels and tires!  They are KMC Dirty Harry 18x8.5 et0 with LT275/70r18 Nitto Terra Grappler G2.  I'm happy with the "meaty flush" look on the truck and love the bronze even if it means I have to put up with Subaford jokes (that have already been rolling in btw).
I've already installed a Hopkins Insight brake controller since the truck didn't come with one.  I didn't want to do the OE conversion because I wanted to be able to transfer it to future vehicles if needed.  A lot of what I'll end up doing is to make it a more capable tow vehicle.  The 2.7l ecoboost has never left me wanting more power hauling our 26' 5k lb camper but the F150 chassis is soft.  Even with a weight distribution hitch with sway control properly set up I've had a couple "moments" on the road from wind or passing semi trucks.  After a couple years I'll probably move into a Super Duty but until this this turd will have to do.

Hopefully at least one person thought of the Tom Segura bit about how he yells “Bikes!” when you saw the thread title because that was completely intentional.
This is the thread where we talk about bikes. I know at least 1 or 2 of you are into bikes as much as you are into BMWs.
@m42b32 went on a few early morning rides at Minooka before work which I have enjoyed and hope to do more of this next year.  Now that I know I will get my moneys worth out of a better bike, I have spent the last few months shopping, test riding, and not having much luck finding what I want. Looking into ordering what I want new, and it might be May/June at best for delivery.
I finally found what ive been looking for on the used market. Its a 2021 Giant Trance 29, only a few months old. It should arrive this week.

Trails on the list for 2021:
    Camrock
    Little Switzerland
    Alpine Valley
    John Muir/Emma Carlin
Eventually I’d love to make it up to Copper Harbor but that is unlikely this year.

I know, if he hadn't specifically mentioned that the car was blue, I never would've known. Not a single decent picture of the interior or anything, and I'm pretty sure the alpina reps are painted white? Still a cool car, but I'd be a bit wary of what the ad and pictures hide. I can't even tell if the panel gaps are decent.

Although I am not a fan of the Road Glide fairing (I prefer the batwing, just personal preference), that's a damn nice looking bike! I have debated selling my Sportster 1200 Forty-Eight and getting a new Fat Bob with the 114 engine. I test rode one and it fucking moves.

A German company by the name of Prior Design (think about that one) will be making aesthetically pleasing bumpers for ///Mr.Toothy. Funny to think that typical buyer questions for M3s will now be:
E21: “did it really come with those M badges? I didn’t think there was an E21 M3...”
    E30: “Is the dash cracked?”
E36: “Have the cooling system and VANOS been done?”
E46: “Have the subframe, VANOS, and rod bearings been done?”
E90: “Have the rod bearings and actuators been done?”
F80: “Has the crank hub been done, and can you please delete whatever app it has that makes it do that burble thing?”
G80: “Has the front end been done yet?”

I would not be the least bit surprised  to see a good looking LCI In a few years now that they hopefully realize their errors.
When 2020 has you down, just know that there is hope for the future in a better looking G80

Well, last weekend I traded in my '18 Street Glide for this '20 Road Glide Special...

Got stuck behind a train on the ride home, twas a brisk 42* or so if memory serves.

Removed the side reflectors, warning stickers, added black axle nuts, and installed a Predator 3 extended reach seat.
