Nice eye, Yeah its a 1967 Sunbeam Tiger MKII, (Not an alpine Clone lol) My dad has owned it since the early 80s and parked it in the 90s. He wanted an AC Cobra but didn't have Cobra money at the time. So he settled with the next best thing. Weird car as Sunbeam was acquired by Chrysler. So Ford V8, in a British car. With Chrysler Stars on the seatbelts. From what he has told me in the past they made just under 700 of the MKIIs and way less then half are left as everyone totaled them.
It was originally a BRG car and he plans to start restoring it when he retires, If he ever does.

Here is a long past due update. Back in August I decided it was time to switch out the Amber Corners/Sides/Tails to clears in preparation for what I thought was coming this next year. I also did an oil change with OE BMW oil as they switched back to Castrol. Took a Blackstone test that I also haven't sent out yet.
First week of September I got the exhaust back from the machine shop new brackets were welded up very nicely. So both the Eisenmann Race + SuperSprint X pipe were installed! Sounds so much better. OEM+ Tone deeper and not too loud either.
In September I participated in another CVSCC Auto X at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair Grounds. Ended up winning First in F street Class and 10th place in PAX time. 11th overall time.
Fast Forward to yesterday I picked up a full Imola E46 M3 interior from @wasnt m3. Couldn't resist that will go in the car in the spring or whenever.

Completed the heated steering wheel retrofit. All 100% stock parts. It really cranks out the heat when first turning it on. Then settles after that to a very comfortable temp. I'm very impressed.
I also installed a wireless phone charger in place of the ashtray in front of shifter. 3D printed an adapter that mounts to stock screw locations and uses a universal wireless charging pad from ecstuning. Works great!

New interior is going to look great, red interiors in black cars are one of my favorite color combos.
Is that a sunbeam tiger in the background of one of those photos? What’s the story on that?

So, drove it two days before a small but annoying problem reared its ugly head: fucking ignition cylinder anti theft. It fired up but when I turned the key it felt funny. When I tried to turn it off, it was locked in. Then it did the stupid anti theft 360. So I killed it with the battery Un-hooked and pulled the big plug under the hood. I'll be doing the temporary fix to it, but will be ordering a new key and cylinder.
Other than that little issue, car is great. Rust free (like extremely rust free) and bone stock other than suspension and a shitty aftermarket radio. Will be addressing a few things over the winter, mainly front diff bolt, emissions and ASC delete, interior work, and I'll be looking into a GT wing and adjustable front splitter.
I'll update this sometimes as work proceeds to keep a log.
Here's a photo from Tuesday car night where I had to leave it running for the short time I was there, due to the issue mentioned above.

I did a car thing. More details soon maybe. Planning on welding the diff and doing a full rocket bunny kit I'm going to paint pink and rivet on.

Took the X5 on a trip up north to Mille Lacs Lake for the weekend. Being able to toss all our crap in the ski box and have the whole back open for the dogs was awesome. Only put about 1k on it, but loving it so far.

Dang @Rekpoint came to visit me in Minneapolis this weekend too! It's a beautiful drive if you take highway 10 / highway 35 southeast and just cruise along the Mississippi River. We usually go from St. Paul down to Pepin and back, such a scenic route. Not sure if you took a similar route, but looks like it was a blast!

X5 was on 145k with original drivetrain fluids, so with the help of @Rekpointwe changed oil, front diff, rear diff, and transfer case. Fluids actually looked surprisingly clean for the mileage, but nice little peace of mind.
Still have trans to do, but saved that for another day because it looks like a damn pain.

Summer out here makes it hard to work on cars when there are so many awesome other things to do!
Finally laid some primer down in the engine bay

Really prefer the look of the all aluminum silver key fob casing, so I swapped the circuit board into a new casing. It’s a bit tricky to get the physical key cut on these, so just reused the bottom section for now.

Small change - I swapped all the interior lights to LED a while back and just never really liked it. Feel like it modernized the car in a way that didn’t feel right. I’m an idiot and threw away all the original bulbs, so I recently had to go through realoem and gather each bulb part number to buy them through FCP. Feel like the standard bulbs just fit the car better and pair nicely against the cinnamon interior.
Heres a few crappy pics of LED vs standard

Hadn’t seen the wheels on the car yet, didn’t have much to do today, so I did a test fit on one side.

Between these and the style 225’s, I think the E9X had some of the best M sport wheels. Looking forward to these being on the car full time. Just waiting till winter(currently on snows as stated in previous post).
Think I am going to do some ST coil overs next year to get rid of just a little bit of the wheel gap.

Lol! @Rekpoint would probably offer $4k with a straight face. For now I'm planning on keeping the E90 too and storing it over winter again this year. It's a fun little summer daily and can't bring myself to part with it.

How about for every month he doesn’t work on it, we replace one random (preferably hidden) stainless fastener with a zinc plated one until it gets worked on again?

I tried looking into this a lot given that my price range would be a higher mileage one. And I couldn’t really find any complaints of major issues other than the things you listed: n55 oil leaks, bags, and drivetrain servicing.

Having air bags was a huge concern for me, but it seems like they’re pretty reliable and if a bag leaks, they’re not that expensive and replacing them is a very quick job.

I have some slight shuddering/jerking as I coast to a stop. But I have everything coming to service the transmission, transfer case, and front diff. I’ve read of significant improvements in drivetrain feel after servicing everything. Also a new OBD tool that can reset adaptations.

Does anyone have some feedback on higher mile F15/E70's? I have been looking around but wondering if there are any larger issues that these cars face down the road?
I know some of the general stuff like 3rd row cars with airbags, general N55 stuff, etc.
I am kind of in your same boat with looking at an E70, but also seeing some higher mileage F15's for similar costs. I like the E70, but the F15 takes a huge jump in the looks.
The Imperial Blue and the brown is a great combo.

Looks good!!! I turn around and do a double take with the X5 just as much as I do with the e30. It’s a fantastic car.
