yes mitch, that's what happens when you don't go to butt-fuckery events like Automotion where people put 4 foot exhaust tips on Dodge Neons. You instead end up at legit events where people have legit cars and exciting things happen like me lighting a match to more money.

Bunch of nice kills there, looks like you took down some big power cars.

As you all know, I was at the NoFlyZone Midwest event this past weekend. Got almost 25 passes in. The first day was rained out, but we got a few solo runs. Going 146mph in the rain is... interesting. The second day was awesome and I was able to clock a 156.79 MPH run.
Here is a compilation video of some cars I was able to run.
It was a blast. I beat the crap out of the car without a hiccup and then drove 5 hours back home. Here is a compilation video of some cars I was able to run.

Seen it. Agree on so many levels, to the millionth degree.
When I was having my engine built for my Acura by King Motorsports, I spent many hours there with their machinist and the service manager. I was one of the few people they would let come back and be part of the discussions with Webcams when we were working on a cam profile, and in general just got to be around because I was 1 of 1000 Honda owners coming through there who wasn't a complete douche.
I have been privy to so many phone conversations over just a 3 month period of being at the shop 3-4 times a week, and it's literally all just dumbass kids wanting 600 hp turbo builds for $2000 , or janky shitty ragged out Civics going on the dyno and poor Tim has to try and tune them and they gain 3 hp and kids get mad about it.
On top of that, you have people who bring their cars in for builds and everything gets done and tuned, full motor, everything, and then they don't pay. Of course King keeps the car, but that car isn't worth anywhere near how much labor has been put in at $75/hr to build it, that now isn't being paid for.
It's a shitty business to be in through and through when it comes to dealing with people. I can't agree more that the broader car community is just entirely full of shitfucks, and it is made worse by the fact that we live in a time when technology masks a lot of knowledge about stuff. So few people know anything about cars anymore, and even fewer admit what they don't know. Now take that attitude and bring your car to a shop and spout off to the people owning the shop like you know something because you found it on a forum somewhere so it must be true, and you have the average defacto engagement of someone owning a performance shop. Doesn't it sound like fun?
Fuckin shitfucks.

Yeah, I already relocated everything when I did inlets. Easiest way to make good power
Consider yourself lucky. Holding 19psi at 5500RPM with no inlets. I can only dream...

Nope, still on the same turbos. I checked them when I installed inlets. No shaft play, no leaking or burning oil. Just the dreaded rattle from the wastegate flapper, it's a shame because they seem to be in great condition otherwise.
Once these give up or I want even more power, I'll be going with a top-mount single

bk335 reacted to i_love_cars in 135i build thread. I'm done hobcobbling posts together
update: cobb flash is done and starting on jb4 map now. The BEF used in the videos taken above is hitting about 11 psi at 3k and getting up to 18 at 5500 and holding that to redline. For JB4 will be initially on 17 psi across the board from 3k rpm, and with a couple tweaks hopefully end up closer to 20 psi across the board on e50.
I still can't believe how well this turbo holds boost at higher rpm. It's such a staggering difference from a stock N55 turbo which just utterly ran out of breath at like 5200. This thing hits 6500 and keeps going.
if this shitfuck wisconsin weather would just...fix itself...

i hate most people, so if anyone shows up that I don't like, I'm leading them around some hard turns on the cruise so they careen off the road in whatever shitbox they rolled up in and crash in the woods.

it's pretty entertaining. I got into it with my brother-in-law's friend maybe 1.5 years ago and he was telling me there's no way that a BMW on a stock turbo can hit a peak target of 20-22 psi and make 450 wheel. He was quite belligerent when he told me i'm stupid and don't know how turbos work when I told him the n5x doesn't have a BOV, either. Still incredulous when I did him the service of explaining the concept of a diverting enclosed return system.
These cars can make high peak numbers but a cheap Z06 with light mods will still crush an N54 until you upgrade the turbos. They really become a bottleneck, but damned if that torque down low doesn't rip your fucking face off, LOL. I stopped revving my car past 5500 a long time ago (save for the track where RPM position after shifting actually matters). On the street it just feels so much better to row gears from 2500-5500 rpms. January can't come soon enough. I just hope there isn't a long wait list at that point for the Pure Stage 2 kit.
