ClassE got a reaction from Jdesign in 1JZ E30 Vert Build Thread with Pastry filled wheels
Called Aeromotive to order - ended up talking to Brett their tech director - they sent me one for free to repair. Piece of cake to replace.
Unscrew the big top Allen screw as much as possible to relieve pressure on the internal spring. Take the 4 screws off to remove the top portion - the diaphragm is sandwiched between the top/bottom piece - replace and reassemble (take note of internal top/bottom cap orientation). There are YouTube videos to show how as well.

Looks like the exact same FPR I'm running.... Which was leaking internally (out the vacuum port) and back filled the entire vacuum manifold and all the lines... Which then started filling the intake runners.
I thought it was a leaking injector. 😒

Well.... Had a really good night on car stuff, but can't make the picnic tomorrow. 😭
Car at was up and running quite well (with the exception of the fuel clamps constantly loosening up and leaking). Took the car for a test drive to the gas station and ITB's felt amazing - even on a very basic tune. Unfortunately on the way home from getting gas the car started feeling more and more sluggish, so hustled home and got it into garage. Quite thankful I added a dial gauge to my FPR, has helped immensely in troubleshooting. As fast as the pump would prime fuel into FPR (5 seconds or so to fill to 50psi) - the pressure would drop right back down to 0. Thankfully the ITB's allow for easy diagnosis of some things now, so opening the throttle plates and looking down at the valves provided a clear view of an injector literally dumping fuel into cylinder 4.
Did get some good pics and video from people as a consolation prize...

Got a deal on a new IS lip on r3v, so with that, aside from maybe a few odds and ends, I think I have every piece to rebuild my car to better than it was before the crash. Pretty stoked about that.

ClassE reacted to i_love_cars in 135i build thread. I'm done hobcobbling posts together
Ok people, I went back to the dyno today after the tuning adjustments. Now the car is running where I thought it should've been to begin with. Very happy and I finally feel like I can call this car "done" in my eyes. I know some people are pushing the N55 further but in my opinion that's a $$$ rabbit hole that just isn't worth going down. At some point I'm going to sell this car and move into V8 territory.
475 whp / 477 wtq on E50 was my best pull today. The power band looks fantastic and I really couldn't be happier, especially knowing that I put all the parts on the car together myself and shit isn't blowing up.
First 2 pulls were back at 21 psi same as what I had last week when I was making 420. When those looked clean I upped the targets to 23 psi in the midrange. Pull 3 had intake temps of 120 degrees so I had their dyno tech spray the engine down a bit before the 4th pull and picked up an extra 9 hp / 8 tq on the 4th pull. 23 psi in the midrange gave a really nice power increase between 4k and 5500 as you can see.

Check with your insurance - cracked windshields are $100 to replace with my insurance.

Using -16 AN fittings I sized, and then resized the coolant hoses for the radiator. The upper outlet needed one sensor for the 1jz coolant temp (this sensor controls idle and tune) and one BMW sensor for the factory temp gauge on the dash.
The space needed for the sensors, and the distance for the hoses was extremely close and it made for a really tricky install.

New wheels are on. I could not possibly be any happier with how they look. Fitment is really good with 12mm spacers all around. I think I am going to drop to a 10mm just for peace of mind but right now I can get a full lock on the wheel again with no rub and driving over normal bumps so far is no problem.

Started the PayPal dispute process with MAKSInjection... That should be fun.
In the meantime - I got a referral to "MEPEH" for injectors. Sent them some messages on my predicament, and got immediate responses back with good info and willingness to help. Less then an hour later I had (2) injectors and some spare o-rings being shipped NDA - with plenty of unnecessary pictures of him boxing and at post office.
Cant say enough good things about that kind of service - good prices and great communication will always have me coming back!
So temporary injectors will be here tomorrow until I get my crap service resolved with MAKS - which means I should be up and running by tomorrow night!!!

Back from vacation... And no injectors.
Website shows them in stock, I've emailed 5 times over two weeks pleading to please ship ASAP and I'll be happy to pay for expedited shipping.... Zero responses back.
Time to cancel order and buy somewhere else. I'll never recommend anyone to purchase from Maksinjection - absolute garbage company.

I have no qualms.
Someone complaining about how their m20b25 is a turd, then swapping in a 300k mile junkyard m50 and praising how much better it is because no timing belts and valve adjustments....
This is when we go to war.
R3V is filled with this kind of behavior

just got back from washing my car. It was scary. There were many WCEC bros in janky cars trying to hand wash in preparation for Automotion. I wasn't sure I was going to make it out of there without my car getting some sort of car-world AIDS equivalent. I feel fortunate that there is a haven in the E30 picnic.

Not a bad day in the garage! Old cracked oil pan removed - new oil pan installed. Also finished running brake lines so I can bleed tomorrow night. Getting closer!

Just got home from Euro District. Can I be relieved of driving duties for a week? Rear quarters and tires are pretty scrubbed up but the car drove absolutely flawlessly=D
