Saab 9-3 (15.3 in stock form; a fair bit quicker after I cut a small slit in the wastegate vacuum line to increase the boost 🤠)

Thanks, guys! New motor because I broke all 5 pistons in the original engine (which all had 240k on them).

Is the car slowly becoming all silver?

A year later, and I'm just about to button up installing a fresh engine built with Wiseco pistons and h-beam rods in a painstakingly refinished engine bay. This car has been a real test of my patience and perseverance.

This looks potentially interesting. My car has round headlamps but doesn't currently run or drive...

It's great to see that M3's destiny finally panning out. Good work!

Very reliable and cheap turbos. Should be a great choice on there. I’ve used quite a few of them over the years. There are several different turbine housing available. The one you have flows decently well. You can also easily upgrade the compressor to a larger wheel if you end up wanting a bit more. I ran a 20t (upgraded 16t, and a 16t is near identical to the 15g used on the 850 turbo). They continue making power into ~25psi and can run that pressure all day. I ran mine at 27psi for quite a while without any problems after swapping the wastegate actuator out for one from a T3 (looks like you’re already addressing the insufficiency of the original actuator).

No worries! That makes the decision for me then!

I keep going back and forth in my head on whether or not I want to buy this from you to replace the e46 330xi shift lever in the Volvo...

At first, I thought your stickers depicted two wives of varying sizes.
Engine bay is looking fantastic!

I should be picking up this car's replacement later this week, so this will be going up for sale shortly.
I'll post more about the replacement when I have it in hand, but it is a BMW.

Posting this for my brother (and so it leaves my garage)

BMW M30B35 Short block engine w/ head for sale. No manifolds.
Includes a head gasket kit.
I never ran the motor, but I was told it's good. Visually, you can see it needs a head gasket (visible permatex)
$150 or $200 with the engine stand it's currently on.https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/pts/d/jackson-bmw-engine-m30b35/6779249858.html

Totally fine. Same style regulator was used on many factory turbocharged cars.

I can't see because I'm not in the group (but that explains why the stereo sucks)
That car actually left my garage and was passed on to another WIBimmers member today...

It's all back together, and I drove it. OATOA engine feels happy.
Only 15 miles in, but so far things are good. I'm running with engine break-in oil, keeping RPM varied <4k and throttle input <60%. Plan is to keep putting around in it like that, change the oil after 50 miles for another batch of break-in oil, and then change that batch of oil out at around 500 miles.
