  2. I rebuilt my mountain bike again this spring. I got a clean 1991 Bridgestone frame from the Brazen Dropouts swap meet. Lugged steel, Tange tubing. I think the only original parts now are the brakes, rear derailer and shifter. Mostly use it for commuting and riding around Pheasant Branch, although I did take it to Cam Rock a few weeks ago. I don't miss my suspension fork as much as I thought I would, but my wheels don't come off the ground as often as the used to either...
  3. For sure! Funny, I watched his video shortly after buying it searching for info on reviving the car... Awesome to see he's a member here! I see he bought the car from Ralph, and I remember seeing that car when I was picking up parts for our E21. Small world! I got a lot of work done on the car the last couple weeks. Just waiting for a couple parts from FCP and she should be running soon! Updates soon....

  5. The "i" at the end of the model name (Ex:325i) used to indicate fuel injected models in BMW's naming convention has finally been removed and will now only appear in front of the model names (ex: i8) to represent electrification. In my opinion its kind of crazy that the "i" has lasted as long as it has and that this is a good change. I still think that the naming nomenclator of BMW models is somewhat confusing once the marketing team got involved, but this is probably a step in the right direction to simplification. https://www.carscoops.com/2024/04/bmw-will-transition-to-using-i-designation-only-on-electric-vehicles/
  6. Got the car out a few weeks ago! The steering rack seal leaks have reached a point of being a real problem, but if you ignore that and keep the reservoir full its still a blast to drive! Went to the Pegasus cars and coffee and had a great time last weekend, was great seeing some of you there.
  7. That's quite the drive for me. I may or may not make the trip, but I am marking my calendar.
  8. Interesting wheels on that thing. Fun to see another Bavaria on here. @ADDvanced Picked one up last year, but his looks to be a much bigger project than yours. Congrats on your purchase, and keep us posted on your progress!
  9. I have a really hard time walking by a nice classic BMW in need of resurrection. Here is "Emery". She's a 1974 Bavaria 3.0s that has been parked as part of a collection since 1984. We've have been wanting a 2002, but finding nice ones without taking out a second mortgage is near impossible. Cruising FB marketplace, we found this Bavaria and decided take a peek at it. The first time I saw a Bavaria was at the Vintage in 2022, and there only was 3 of them. So, here she is!! I'm working though getting her running again after sleeping for the better part of 40 years. I've been going through everything; drained the fluids, and inspected the cylinder bores. I have some wiring issues to clean up, and have replaced the starter so far, but she will be ready to start up soon! New tires are on order for a set of basketweaves that will be going on her to replace the '80s Keystone wheels. I Make poor financial decisions, lol. The Shop is officially full!
  10. Two weeks away!!!! See ya there 😉

  12. Not much chitter chatter in this chitter chatter thread...
  13. One of the wheels might be an updated version, a spare, or sourced from a different casting facility. I'm not quite sure which BMW's were all offered with style 44's, but if there were multiple models offered with the same wheel, they might have a different place that sources the same style wheels. The other reason could be casting improvements or a lack of material in a region that was producing wheels and they switched suppliers. Either way, I find it hard to believe there would be a "replica" of a style 44 as its not a highly desirable wheel. I could also be very wrong as well, who knows.
  14. If it's a manual and you have fold down rear seats, more than likely your floor pan in the rear where the subframe mounts might be tearing.
  15. About as often as this car get touched. I feel you though.
  16. Per title, I'm looking for a black sedan rear seat. Mine is missing and Id like to find a replacement.
  17. Sorry for the late reply back all I greatly appreciate all of the information and guidance. I will keep you all posted once I get started.
  18. Thanks! The only differences are this one has heated rear seats, and it doesn't have ventilated seats or a HUD like the 2011 does. It has all the good stuff that comes with the premium and cold weather packages though. Gonna start on paint correction and detail today...
  19. One of my personal favorite e30s! Love this!
  20. Bumping this to keep the spirit alive until Earl can come give us hope.
  21. Thanks! I really hope so as well. Slowly finding all kinds of fun hidden in this car. Ill have a better update soon with all the "fun" Well spotted! I was really hoping to restore them back to original quality but unfortunately 3 out of the 4 are severely bent. I did have the one good wheel cleaned up and is ready for paint. It will make a nice spare.
  22. Welcome ! Bummer on the water but looking forward to following along on the build. Are those yellow E38 16” style 5’s?
  23. Sweet! Always great when that long term play pays off. Any good options the other X5 doesn’t have?
  24. Nice find! Hope you get it running without too much hassle.
  25. Come on over to the Waupaca Airport on May 11, 2024 for some wings and wheels at this year's Badger Bimmers Spring Picnic!!! We will have use of the hangar, and food will be available for purchase. (Or you can bring your own) Parking will be on the grass, we'll be sure it's mowed and level before you come. Any questions, let me know!! Hope to catch you there!! https://facebook.com/events/s/badger-bimmers-spring-picnic/1507363836828817/
  26. I recently picked up a 2000 328Ci on a whim not really knowing a lot about it. It’s my first E46 platform car and I’m learning a lot quickly on their weak points. From what I have been able to gather, the car was running and was taken apart to install an m50 manifold. It has now been through a few owners and no one has been able to make it run properly again. So I drove over and picked the car up along with a bunch of extra parts in the trunk. I took inventory of what was included and realized that there was quite a bit missing. After a couple phone calls and a few hours in the car I had aquired an exhaust, an extra intake, and some missing ccv parts. With those sourced I sat down with some parts manuals and placed an order with fcp. And waited….. While I waited I tore everything apart to attempt to clean and get ready to put everything back together. Thats when I found it…. IMG_7254.mov Cylinder 4-5-6 were full of water from the car being stored outside with no intake. I removed the plugs and turned the engine over by hand first to make sure nothing was tight. Followed by an air nozzle to blow as much water out of the cylinders as I possibly could. I poured some out in the cylinders and continued to turn it over by hand until I was confident that everything was moving smoothly. I’m not seeing any water in the oil which is good. It will be changed shortly here just to have a current record on the service. To be continued…
