  1. Pulled the car out of the garage for a rinse and re-installed the spoiler because it is very tricky to get the placement correct. I wasn’t satisfied with my first two attempts but it’s all good now.

I was able to try out the new parkIng brake components and can now finally hold the car on a hill in neutral! A functioning park brake is underrated.

  2. From today forward, play BANGL and win a prize!

    Rules:

-Game begins 2/17/2021, activities must take place after this date.

-activities SHOULD be completed with a BMW but once someone achieves BANGL and submits evidence in this thread, we will vote.

-evidence should be photographic, but if it isnt, it will be subject to scrutiny by the community come validation time.

-Knocking on Chris’ door is an acceptable substitute in the event he tampers with his doorbell

  3. Cover up the right side of the pic, squint real hard, take a sip of floor wax, and you can see an X3.

progress is progress! like I say, I did my 24v swap 15 minutes at a time everyday to stay motivated. This already looks way easier than any of the E30/E21 motor extractions we have done.

That’s a lot of fuel money

I think like that too, but then realize how many people drive 13-17 mpg V8 pickup trucks their whole lives.

I usually end up at 18-19 mpg but have seen 24-25 on long trips in mine.

    Original rod bearings and VANOS

“I attribute my lead foot and persistent maintenance as contributing factors to its longevity,” says Tom Stokes. “With the exception of a little play in the gearbox, it rides like a 30,000-mile car, and still pulls like it did when I bought it sixteen years and 315,000 miles ago.”

Did a ton of work ourselves which saved a lot.  We had a major and 2 smaller vacations canceled so we had a little boost to the budget which was nice.

Wife uses her fancy wide angle lens to take the pics so it looks bigger than it is.

The stone on the wall looks really good. Almost like a nice restaurant feel. Im not sure I ever remember seeing that done before but I like it a lot
