    F15 X5 35i

Picked up a ceramic iDrive controller, which was an uncommon factory option on the 50i variant. You can also get a matching shift lever and HVAC control knobs if you’re willing to shell out. Kinda silly the knobs are integrated, so you need to replace the entire iDrive control unit.

I also lightly polished and ceramic coated the headlights because they were starting to get a tiny bit sun damaged at 10+ years old. Before/After:

For months I've been chasing a clunking noise in the suspension. So far I've replaced shocks, spring bushings/rubber, sway bar links, lower control arms, adjusted steering rack pre-tension, and just yesterday replaced the thrust arms. After all this work and well over $1000 in parts I realized it was just one of the upper shock bolts wasn't tight lol. Fresh front end though, eh?

  8. Nice score! Congrats on graduating college and being debt free 👍 Certainly a rewarding way to start your career.
  9. Well, this was an interesting twist. For those of you who don't know I recently graduated from UW Stout with a Real Estate property management degree. I was running my small business through college and graduated with 0 debt thanks to selling euro clocks and various rare BMW parts. The business is strictly going to run as a side income as I recently just accepted a new job as a Commercial Property administrator. Doing so, I was looking for a new daily to treat myself. I was wanting an E70 X5 Diesel. I went to look at one in Minneapolis when the dealership owner hit another car with it in his warehouse. Sunroof didn't work but he wouldn't take 1500 off the price. Disappointed in that, I went home and kept looking, later that night this 2014 F15 X5 M Sport popped up down near Lake Geneva for a really fantastic deal. I messaged him 20 minutes after he posted and made sure to wake up at 6 am to try to convince him to let me come and buy it without anyone else stealing the deal from me. He agreed that he would take my word and there was no deposit needed to wait until Friday for me to come, take a look, and hopefully buy the truck. All my friends have jobs and school just had started the day before so nobody was free. As soon as I walked into the garage I could tell this beauty was coming home with me as the price was unbeatable. Here are the specs! 2014 BMW F15 X5 Alpine White over Mocha Brown, came with 2 sets of wheels ESR summer wheels and TSW Winters. The X5 is lowered on Silvers coilovers and has EVERY M performance option minus the big brakes and exhaust. That list includes. CF front lip, CF rear diffuser, CF mirror caps, black lip spoiler, CF interior trim, door sills, pedals, black grills, door projectors, rocker panel film, and the M performance power kit. So over 10k in optional extras the original owner speced this beast out with. I bought it from the 2nd owner who bought it from Carvana in Texas for 32k in 2021. The truck also has a Dinan tune, Burger motorsports intake, stealth hitch system, and IND painted roundels (They are definitely cooler in person) Needless to say, I am pumped that I came home with a way newer vehicle than I was expecting to purchase for not much more than an M57 E70. As for the future is just maintenance and drive. I have purchased a few things I'll be adding to this to make it more practical and clean up a few flaws. There aren't many. For those wondering what is happening with my M3. I plan on keeping it as it was my childhood dream car with my dad being an E46 owner my whole life. I am going to store it early at @pynacls house for easy access as I don't want to spend $250 a month in parking. (I have to clean his garage out) Guess he gets a free M3 garage ornament without having to worry about another set of rod bearings...
  10. E30 is still there but looking to get sold before winter. We moved about 2 years ago into a new bigger place but with kids getting older (10 and 13 now) priorities have shifted. If anyone’s interested LMK, I’ll get a FS post up sometime soon!
  11. How many miles on the motor?
  12. The muffler is Top Speed, a discontinued eBay special. Sounds fantastic, but annoying as all hell.
  13. I've been chasing boost issues. Replaced the supercharger as I got a bad one. Still low boost. Did a Compression test and results were bad. All cylinders floating around 100psi. Woof. Getting a built S54 from Partee Racing and will get back at it! Cooling had been an issue on the freeway. Might be the AUX fan shroud in the way.
  14. Did a track day at Blackhawk last year. Could only keep it in 4th gear to keep the RPMs down so oil wouldn't blow out of my catch cans. Still clipped 120mph on the straight and had a blast! On newly mounted R888s all around. Also, amassing parts! 🫣 Car is running great outside of a power steering leak. Removed the ABS pump.
  15. Been a bit since I updated this. The first Partee Racing motor snapped the crank and he built me a new motor of the same exact spec without hesitation. Currently working some tuning issues out as we switched tuners.
  16. Welcome back stranger, what’s in the garage these days?
  17. 7 years…. Where has the time gone…
  18. Ive put a 1000 trouble free miles on it. Seems like the new battery and new FRM fixed this cars woes. These E90s are really great - cheap, easy to work on, fun to drive 6MT, okay to get a little banged up by two goldens.
  19. Those are some of the worst wheels I have ever seen put on an E46 m3. That poor car.
  20. It did! Exhaust is hitting the tunnel a little and needs adjusting, and the shifter I bought sucks (garagistic chassis mount… figured they couldn’t mess that up. I have been proven wrong) but generally it drove perfectly and ran okay once the plug was fixed. Idle is a tad low and it isn’t idling perfectly but it gets up and goes once you’re moving. Slight diff leak as well, either a halfshaft or the output seal but not worrying about that for now. That’s a winter project haha, interior reassembly and shakedown starts next week! Hoping to put on some real miles this fall before it gets parked for winter.

    BIKES!

Thanks! Yeah I was excited to find those on the fork when I picked up the frame, that basically made the decision for me to put a front rack on it.
  22. I know it's a ways off, but someone is getting this foe WIBimmers secret santa:

    BIKES!

Looks good. Jealous of those rackmounts on the forklegs. Not a super-rare feature, but not super-common either.
  24. Awesome!! That first drive probably felt great!
  25. Very appropriate! Please post pics. Black on red is an awesome combo!!!
  26. I have a 1987 325i ragtop auto, black/cardinal, that has been sitting in a barn for 20 years. It comes with a spare factory soft top with busted rear window and a MT conversion kit. It was in a "moderate" collision in the early aughts; I had a quality shop do the fix with factory BMW parts (aftermarket not avilable for the cabrio). Basically, the front clip was replaced. It has a bit of a checkered history, as Carfax said it had 85K at the time I bought it when the ODO said 67k. But it's a Minnesota cabrio that saw little snow. It's dusty, but I think it's solid. I will post some photos if anyone is interested. But I'll field any questions in the meantime. The car is in Ixonia, Wis. I hope this post is appropriate for this forum.
