jockhater2
I tried taking a look. But I can't seem to find why it does this. Both the cars leak water from where the heater core is located whenever it rains heavily. The 2002's glove box will fill up with water. The E21's floor will just get wet. I can't figure out how the water is getting in.

Bassboy3313
I beleive these are common problem areas for these cars. I remember reading about others getting water in their gloveboxes or by their feet. Might want to look into some e21 threads on bimmerforums.com. If I have extra time I will search some too. need4speed1299
It could be the windshield gasket, sunroof drains, heater box seal...

jockhater2
Nope. Brand new windshield gasket when I had the car painted. Neither of the cars have sunroofs. Hmmm... I will check out that gasket for the heater box and anything else I see on the firewall. I just throw a tarp over the passenger side of the car when it rains for time being. LOL just didn't think it was funny. It's not big deal. Smart ass replies have lost there humor to me. The forum that I mostly use is www.caraudio.com as car audio is my big love. And it's rare to get a serious remark there as your first comment. Gets old.

jockhater2
So I took a look for about a minute today (It's wet out. I'd rather wait until its dry). But from a glance. I seriously can't see where the water would be getting it. It's pretty dry in the engine bay and along the firewall....
Jeff
Do you have a sun roof?
jockhater2
Do you have a sun roof?Nope. and neither does my brothers 2002. It's seriously weird. I'll just have to spend some time when it is dry looking at it.

jockhater2
I'll looked at the fire wall yesterday and didn't see anything missing. Like I said. The firewall was basically dry. So its gotta be getting in somewhere else. The water comes in very slowly on the passenger size up in the left corner by the dash.
Earl
It sounds like a leaky window seal.
merl
What is under those hood vents ... I can't remember how this model works.... Don't they go into a cavity were the heater core brings in air somehow ?? I believe there are drains in the bottom of that cavity. I really cannot remember how that works ... brain hurts !?!?!? ughhh
