  1. Over 50 hrs labor and well over 500$ into parts you cannot find , I am officially finished with the m5 throttle bodies 

    disassembly: 6hrs , labeling and pictures

    cleaning: 10-15hrs or more I’m sure +mat.

    masking and prepping for paint: 8hrs+mat.

    paint and unmasking: 8hrs+mat.

    plating hardware sorting:2-4hrs+mat.

    bearings seals bushings:6-8hrs+mat.

    polish barrels butterfly’s:6-8hrs+mat.

    reassembly: 10hrs

    with endless research for sourcing parts 

    time and patience pays off !

Decided to pull the guns out yet again ... snagged up yet another bmw ,this time an e34 m5 ..i only intend to use the engine and drivetrain for my dream project ..s38 stuffed’’ into an e30, the plan is to replace restore every single nut bolt seal gasket bushing bearing everything with extensive detail .. so far I began with the throttle bodies. top of engine working my way down, engine harness ..everything getting restored, .carbon intake in mind ...should be fun , enjoy!

  3. What do you know about the cars past ?

    well aside the the 1000 other projects,I had short time to pluck away some at the e30 started pulling them diving boards off and getting a good feel of the over all car meticulously finding the weak spots I’ll have to fix down the road like battery location rust exc ,the rest of underside looks darn good to me ,realigned the hood up again., I think this car is worth restoring if it takes me 10 years every bit and bolt.. for now I’ll have a little fun along the way, so I found some cheap evo bumpers I am goin to fix up and custom fit for now for fun while I am on down time from building garage, I’d like to ditch the Sylvania headlights for some hella bmw lights to if anyone has any insights or extras ...and these extra long tube headers omg ..I’ve had my eyes on these for years,I know there worth every penny ,I bet the sound is amazing

  4. Plans originally were to far over budget and bigger than the house so to keep within reason I decided with a 22x34 slab for garage..coming from a 18x18 mound of rubble without a door, so should be ok I imagine,.again originally planned over budget with 12’ walls and a lift on the end, I decided I’ll still make room for lift just with a different layout. Should still all work....the concrete alone for all the work I need done is over 12,000 alone so it adds up fast. I plan to build it myself with some help for electrical.

    i could’ve sworn I almost bumped into you the other day at menards . I wanted to say something tho you looked like you were on a mission so I just continued on , keep up the great work I’ll be doing this soon to mine at 148k . I do think it was done roughly 80k so not quite as bad as that puppy was tho wowza yuck 🤢 😂

    ... , so I ended up purchasing a 85 325e  without an engine or trans and in pretty darn good shape , the underside amazes me the most it’s near rust free and the pinch welds are near perfect ! This is exactly what I wanted for the m30 engine trans swap ,lots of time to invest ,should be a fun adventure!.I am stoked😆..so here’s a few quik pics .🤪

  7. How does a rocket bunny get its name? So Ive decided to change heart of plans with the ole bullet proof big six and that’s with adding boost of coarse! With all the turbo options like pnp megasquirt exc I am excited to say this is my new plan without dowt!! Adding to the list of projects along with garage/shop. I need a bmw for each day of the week! I’ve made my mind up😂.so after doing more digging into on the rusty trusty e34 I realize the rear subframe has been lowered and repainted with newer bushings along with the entire front and bushings ....one thing that sticks out besides the tires when I turn’,I notice is the lower tie rod to lower hub arms have been shortened rewelded from the previous owner for drifting/turning and since the rear brake lines have been removed and came with a hydraulic ebrake , lightened, the more I dig into it and tear things out I notice it’s meant to go siiiddeeewwwaaayyz:) . I will be working on getting the head off eventually for work and slowly picking away to add booost .ordering turbo manifold, studs, cooler, exc.anyone have any m30 turbo insights feel free,,this will be a long term project since I plan to keep this one for another project .eventually the engine and trans will come out car will disappear into another bmw after turbo and running good 

    i have to build a garage ,take down trees,get a new driveway and fence the yard all this year,,so any time i get to wrench on my own is much appreciated!

    i miss my ole white 535, sold that to get my daily 335...am slowly doing m30turbo research when I have time. Enjoy 

    And got my downpipes yeeeaay ...all open the rest is done!

It’s a small world. Did you strip the barrels with the tires on them still ?lol , I noticed clear still around the outer brim why I ask ..,I plan to take out 5 bolts at a time or so have them dipped or re coated and polish the barrels, the centers still look ok .....I’ll get these suckers looking good again! I remember refinishing a set of these years ago., I recall hours of sanding curb rash out.

    ..reverse barrels ?huh ? Haha

  9. most of the e34 chassis/suspension will be up for grabs when I am ready to disassemble yes , I’d like to hear it with a set of long tube headers first and have it running excellent before i take it all apart, once I am happy with it running good wich I am it will be ready to come apart ..,        not yet , I’ll probly keep the style19’s and refinish them again ...since I gave the last set away for an m5 e34diff on my last 535, I’d like to see them on a future’ bmw 

    ..prefer a e21 ,knowing the challenge and being slightly older, I know the e30 will be a better fit. Will have to see what happens it’s all up in the air at moment

I am stoked !  I finally bought another e34 m30 manual getrag 260 equipt with lsd to use for my future e30 e21 swap..now I am in the hunt for my next non running bmw ,, I know this has been a common swap for years tho I have not done this myself yet I know they are tanks 540lbs with trans,I’ve helped with plenty others e30 s54 swap e21 m50 swap e46 s38 swap I am going to just enjoy this one every single nut and bolt one at a time ..off the bat it’s equipped with h&r lowering springs , spec stage 3clutch and fly, short throw shift, hydrolic ebrake kit, new rotors, caliper kits ,water pump, radiator excexc,bbs style 19’s, excexc,the car rolls ok itself just rusted out and beat ,interior trashed most missing , half the shiot works, only 168k so I thought to myself man this will be perfect donor runs solid shifts goood tho loud as heck with no cats no res no muff you can hear this thing coming with ease..so here it is and a few shots of damage control .,cheers to my bmw#25🎉
