It was weird, I browsed the whole site, then when I viewed this thread, the style changed.
    I like it!!  Looks good.
As for CL style classifieds?  I'd vote no, especially with the added cost.
-I prefer a simple forum post type ad.  It seems to keep the info and pics in an easy to read format
-Most members don't post things FS here.  I see so many things on FB marketplace that should/could be here but aren't.  Not sure why....exposure?
-I dislike when I click on a tab/forum and the format changes from everything else on the site.  Just a preference.
-It forces the seller to be a bit diligent in their post.  Organize info and pics correctly.  It adds legitimacy to the ad.
All that being said, I'd still browse the classified forums if you changed to that style.
Thank you for the hard work.

In today's episode of WIbuildings... I ordered a shed yesterday!  10x14 lofted barn with 2 4' lofts and about 10' 6" from the floor to ceiling center.  It should be delivered in 3-5 weeks.  I'm going to drop it on a crushed stone base in a 4x4 pressure treated perimeter.  I'm excited to reclaim my back garage and make that more of a useable space instead of storage!

Forums will always be the superior version of car internet communication. As others have stated, the format just works better for searching and documenting things compared to the comment style of Facebook. While there is no financial "barriers of entry", because you have to sign up and use a site that is not the one you are using for the other things(i.e. Facebook), deters the majority of people. Everyone wants everything to be a quick, one stop, "Amazon" style experience regardless of what the medium or product is now.

While I wouldn't classify it as "work", you have to put in the effort to get to this site and actually utilize it, and people are lazy. In regards to the community size, would it be nice to have a higher retention rate and more people posting on here? Yes. But if you look at any FB group, just like anything else, the more people that use it, the quality goes down.
This forum is also largely seasonal, because it is a local forum, we are confined to the weather.

    I would recommend E-coat.
PPG E-Coat Powercron 6000CX is a semi-gloss black electrostatic liquid coating. Think powdercoating, but liquid instead of powder. The benefit of e-coat over powdercoat is it is very good for tight tolerance/holes/features where you dont want coating buildup/uneven thickness. Its a commonly used automotive coating.
The downside is it is less UV stable than powder.
    Try Swiss-tek or Hartford Finishing

A C4???  Dude.....that's like the surströmming of the corvettes!
Kidding....kinda.    Definitely a nicer corvette than I have.  Will you need to get some jorts and faded polos or do you have those?

Had to google this and I'm impressed how obscure you went with that reference!  🤣  But , doesn't say much unless we know your stance on surströmming.  So, do you take yours ungutted or as a filet?

I'd be glad if I could drive my M5, lol.
    What if it's a fake M badge on a real M?

I had to think carefully. You were the only one that came to mind as far as M5 owners. @TehRaydarlover may still have his but he has been AWOL.
    OP updated with clearer rules

    Real climbers are goddam freaks.

(pictured above) John Gill was one of the fore-runners of modern climbing (bouldering especially) . Devil's Lake is  home to one of (allegedly/possibly the only?) routes that he ever "chipped" aka modified to make more climbable. Little Flatiron. Rated at V4 it's an lower-intermediate climb, but a lofty goal for a noob, and conveniently an hours drive from my spot. Who knew there was historically significant rock climbing areas in Wisconsin? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I got a new tattoo on Wednesday!  It was great to get back in the seat after 10+ years!  It's got my son's name and birthday.

Building up to a full pull up is very hard, even for strong people.  You really need to set up some sort of assistance.  Not sure if you are doing this at home or at a gym, but you need to lighten your body, you can do that with a counterweight pull up machine, or a big band around your feet connected to the bar, or you can even find a lower pull up bar where you can put your feet on the ground to get some weight off.  Essentially you want to be able to go through the whole pull-up motion at a lighter weight to strengthen the muscles.  Just like any other weightlifting exercise.  You wouldn't start bench pressing at 300lbns and just do the downward motion.....you'd start at a light weight and do several reps and then increase weight.  Pull-ups need to be progressed the same way.
Another thing with the abs as it applies to the rock climbing is leg lifts or toes to bar.  If you have the pull up bar, hang from it and lift your legs and touch the toes to the bar.  Or, raise your knees as high as you can, etc.  It engages the abs differently than a pull-up and will simulate using your core to raise your feet up to the next hold spot on the boulder.

The class I signed up for is "bouldering" which is no ropes and strictly low-altitude. I had a couple of jobs in my 20's that were heavily reliant on grip and hand strength, so I think I'm good there. I've been trying to do some basic excercises at home so that I'm not as complete embarrasment. Push-ups and sit-ups aren't bad, but I literally can't get my chin over the bar to do a pull-up.
I'm curious what the demographics of this class are going to look like. Maybe if I'm the oldest one there I can use that as an excuse...

Anyone do rock climbing? I signed up for a class in a couple weeks. I'm old, out of shape, and have no core strength. Should be fun.

if you want the 4-post to be easily accessible without dollies or austin-powers hallway Y turns.
yellow area = clear area. gives access for vehicles and equipment into both lifts, lawn area and storage area.
also  the "work area" with tool boxes and work benches are near both lifts
the storage area leaves room for storage of one or two more vehicles in the inevitable event you have that need, and is also easy to just drive into (no jostling if the clear area is clear)

Looks like you are more efficiently using the space compared to the last design! Good stuff!
