Thats what I shoud've done. I used crappy ebay condiments and ended up melting a pickle and threw an onion right out the side of the bun. Made a hell of a mess on my shirt.

Rebuilding my lunch now, planning to convert to a megasquirt BCU (burger control unit) to better manage my KMR (ketchup-mustard ratio), etc. in the future...

I was bored and had nothing to do for a few minutes and threw this together, I wasn't sure how the WI flag could be incorporated so I used the wibimmers logo. I think it turned out pretty well for a quick Photoshop just to get an idea

Instead of getting my work done I decided to post a little update:
got this from andyhundley a month or two ago!

Deep cleaned and conditioned the leather to restore it to its former glory:

It came out really nicely! Looks almost brand new

Made the necessary spacer by cutting a steel sleeve from the hardware store to the exact same dimensions as the one from the car. Installed it and everything works perfectly, unplugged the SRS module as well so the SRS light is disabled and stays off without the airbag

Going to order the colored strip at the bottom at some point too

Nice! I have a weird soft spot for older Saabs, I don't want to like them but then there I find myself up at 2AM procrastinating on homework on the internet looking at pictures of classic saabs having sexually conflicting thoughts about the late '70s 99 TURBO and TURBO S with factory water injection huuunngg

Passenger comfort is highly over rated!  Unless your dog is the passenger then it is definitely important to have a working window for their comfort.  #iwishicouldcomeupwithacleverhashtagbutiwasatastripclublastnightandhungoveratwork #swagbitch

m42b32 reacted to patsbimmer1 in WI Bimmer center caps
So I had an idea last week to make center caps out of the WI BImmers logo so I contacted Chris (CYoung) to ask permission to use the logo and after some ideas being thrown back and forth he volunteered to get the vinyls cut for me by Dave (bassboy3313) and send them to me.  Well I got the vinyls in the mail this week and spent this weekend making them.

Well I though this would be as simple as taking apart my old caps and putting the vinyls on... not so much.  First of all, the vinyls don't stick very well to the plastic even after scuffing them up so I had to put my thinking cap on.

I ran to Advance Auto and found emblem glue.  It worked great to stick the vinyl to the center cap and did so without disfiguring the sticker when it dried.

This is after it dried on the center cap.

I was concerned about weather proofing them so I shot them with 2 medium coats of clear and I still wasn't satisfied.  I drank some beer and thought about it.  Flying dog sampler pack and KCCO Black Lager to be exact.

After drinking said beers I had an idea!  I needed some kind of clear epoxy that would dry hard so to Hobby Lobby it was... The next morning of course.

I found Jewelry epoxy and thought I would give it a try.  And this was the result...

Voila!  The OEM look I wanted!
After 3 hours they were solid but still a little tacky so I let them sit over night and they are solid!

    On the wheel.

I also did a city light mod.

Well, I was going to dive into a bunch of mechanical things but I got distracted.

I've been sanding wheel lips and stripping wheel faces here and there. Making progress but boy is it slow, one face is almost completely stripped (sooo many layers of paint) and one lip is about halfway sanded since there are many small imperfections I want out, it should be worth it though!

With the car, I got sick and tired of looking at the dull, completely flat paint. I spent a ton of time with a claybar and some nice car wax. The results speak for themselves:

Didn't take a before picture because I forgot again,

    In progress:

    (I rather like this picture)

    And the result!

Before I started, the roof didn't even reflect any light, but boy is it a mirror now!

I for one have been living in fear of the day that I hear "This is the very last episode of Top Gear UK." Luckily Jeremy Clarkson has renewed his contract until 2018.

I'd have to assume the show will come to an end in 2018 though. I at least have 3.5 years or so to prepare for the few weeks of depression, eating disorders, and wrist slitting that may occur.

    Yay updates!

So school is over and finals are done. This past week was the competition for the Formula SAE car my team builds every year. This meant driving over 500 miles from Bethlehem, PA to Brooklyn, MI (Michigan International Speedway) with easily 500 pounds of stuff in the car (full to the brim with all my crap). The day before departure, the fuel line I mentioned above completely let go and the car was stuck in on the street outside the shop we build the race car at. Once we were done for the night, myself and two friends stayed up all night fixing the car:
We were very enthusiastic to be doing this at 4:30am after a hectic 16 hour day

    The culprit:

The 2 inch piece of fuel line under the intake manifold was leaking from both ends, tightening it had failed (and it looked ready to turn to dust) so fortunately we had enough fuel injector hose laying around to properly fix it.

With the car fixed and after a day of packing, we set off for Michigan. The enthusiastic pace was a bit much for my car with the extra weight and it started to run a bit hot, so we backed off a bit and it stayed where it should be. Made it there with no other issues (removed the grilles and headlight panels for some extra airflow), really goes to show the reliability of these cars if you look after them.

Who needs lowering springs when you can just fill it with stuff!

After the competition ended I set off for home, no problems at all with a grand total of 1050 miles traveled. Its pretty crazy to think that, of the 3000 miles I have put on the car so far, 1900 of them have been split across 3 drives!

I am making a quick trip to Canada and then once I am back the Bimmer will be going under the knife (And I will finally get to those wheels...) Stay Tuned!

So I was perusing the interwebs and I came across this build

This started life as a 318ti, and they have converted it to AWD with the engine/drivetrain from a 330xi and the rear end from an e39 m5. The engine is turbocharged and the car has a fiberglass wide body to fit massive tires. This thing is absolutely nuts

    Here is the build thread:
    http://rejsa.nu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=90943&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
^^It isn't in English so google translate helps a lot

I found it in reddit, where they are photo-documenting the whole build more-so than the build thread:

^^The most recent pictures are on the top link and the first four sets of pictures are listed in the comments below the link on that page
