Guest 525i STi Posted May 2, 2014 Report Share Posted May 2, 2014 I currently drive a 04 STi as a daily but looking to buy a 525i that has a 2nd gear grinding issue other then that besides the rear bumper missing it seems legit he wants 1000 dollars for a 1995 170k miles. Earl Posted May 2, 2014 Report Share Posted May 2, 2014 I have a 92' 525i with close to 250,000 miles and it is still going strong. Like John said, cooling systems need normal maintenance on m50's. I am assuming it is a 5 speed if you are saying it has second gear issues. Finding a trans shouldn't be too terrible. The breaking point for more e34's is the rust. How bad of shape is the body in? I very much liked my 2005 Legacy GT, but the E92 was such a huge step up that I've all but forgotten the brutal torque and obnoxiously loud exhaust. Seen a good amount of E34's at the junk yard with intact rear ends, so your search shouldnt be that difficult.
