Probably won't get much action on these here but if anyone could help on a 2002 forum, it would be appreciated.
Had these on my e21 with 14" Panasports for about 4 years / 4000 miles. No goofy wear patterns, tons of life left. Great grip. I went to something with a softer ride because...no need to go into that.
$75 obo for the set of 4. I don't want to ship, but will drive a fair distance to deliver. I'm near Burlington.
Thanks,

Willing to help a guy out with Porsche parts at ECS? I understand if you want to keep it BMW only...

I stopped by a random car show on my way home frim Chicago on Sunday morning and saw this in the parking lot... I know it's not illegal but it's not the best idea in front of an airbag.
Caymans have a weight/pressure sensitive airbag switch in the passenger seat that turns it off if there is a light passenger who would be harmed by it. I think most late model cars do. I've driven my daughter around in my Dad's Cayman several times and a light comes on that says "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF".

Oh sorry, it's done and the tire is back on and such, ended up being $50 to groove and tig weld. Just waiting for the weather, glad I didn't put them on before last Wednesday.

e28 533i on Bring-a-Trailer auctions. Maybe I am out of touch with how much it costs to pay somebody to work on a car.

Please note the $19,250 to "get this car going again after long term storage" is AFTER a $6000 discount.

Maybe the guy got confused, it was VW that was rebranding Chrysler minivans.

The first place I took it to shot me a price of $200 to weld that crack, just to weld it, no refinishing of the area afterward. I thought that price was SMOKING crack. That looks like a 1 hour job at most to me. I was thinking $75-$100, maybe only $50 if I did all the prep work. Taking it to a local welding guy to look at today.

Original was 75k the first time I saw it.
I would say 1/2 that given it's apparently been dicked with. Most of it looks to be easily undone unless the whoopee stripes are painted on, but still...

Sorry for the delayed response...Love the e28. My first "real" car was an '83 GTI, I miss it as well. It was the first car I bought myself, that was in '85 maybe? Hopefully we'll see the e28 out and about this summer.

Pretty much all auto auctions are like that (Mecum, Gooding, Bonhams, etc), the buyer pays the fee/commission, typically called "the premium". Some charge both buyer and seller from what I have heard. People mostly prefer BaT over the big auction houses since the premium is capped on larger ticket cars, although not a lot of those get sold there.

Odd both of these cars come up for sale at the same time...
Two very serious, period modified e21's built by guys who were, and maybe still are, big names in modded BMWs:

Nice but too much $$$!
I bet if it had a far less rare benzinmotor somebody would pay that, especially if it was a 533i/535i. A 524td with even less miles struggled to make $6k on BaT. Very few e28s left with this mileage/in this condition, but the td/auto aspect is a real punch in the gut value wise for it. I like the sheepskin seat covers, very period.

Yeah, they ride pretty high, eh? One of the first things I did to mine when I bought it was bavauto springs and matching Bilsteins. Even after taking 1.25-1.5" out I still occasionally get hit with:
"man, you should lower this thing"
"ummm, IT IS lowered."
"whoa!"

HipMF,
Shouldn't you be more concerned with this than the Benz?

Hadn't checked the MyE28 non-affiliated thread for June yet, this was the first post. Look who showed up on Cincinnati CL 😂
Holy crap, that thing's been for sale for a LONG time. And all over the country on CL. I don't know anything about the car or seller.

The justification for my higher education is being able to afford a garage that's deep enough so the back end of my cars don't stick out.

Although not all the art cars appeal to me, this one is just plain stupid. I hope they didn't pay the guy a lot to do it. Agree with OP, looks like some kid did it on Forza.
p.s. the graph paper e9 is my favorite.
