  1. We finally got her to start on her own! Embarrassingly, it only needed some more fuel. Apparently, the gallon and a half we initially added wasn't enough to make its way into the pump, the tank must've been completely dry.

It had a grumpy start after hibernating for so long, but we couldn't believe how well we ended up getting it running! Unfortunately, the transmission left us stuck in the garage, but we're going to add some fluid and see if it'll make it down the road.

  2. Well according to some of you guys, I definitely have an addiction then lol. I ran out of room at my house so I brought my F80 to my parents house. And I have two 135i's that don't run, and one 335i that barely limps along. The F80 and my other E90 are my only working BMWs 😆

I'm glad I have a good support system here though, fellow BMW owners who can relate and encourage me to keep being irresponsible.

Anyways, I got a DME, CAS, JBE and key from a part out to get this 135i back together. I also pulled the cluster and powered it up externally to see if it really had 11k miles, then tried firing the old girl up after sitting for years.

Couldn't get her to kick over on her own, but she did after I dumped a little fuel down the intake. If anyone has ideas on what I could do to get this thing to fire up under it's own power, please let me know.

I'm going to see both in April.  My wife has injected them into my Spotify recommendations so I'll have a nice bluegrass mix going then Spotify hits me with those two and I'll blind skip every time.  I'm sure they're gonna put on a great concert but the music does nothing for me.

I'll see ya there? We've got floor seats on Friday.

  4. I wanted to share a giveaway I just launched with my fellow WI Bimmers peeps. As I dive into this full-time content creator life, I'm trying to sell more of my BMW-inspired merch. What better way to do that than to do the infamous "buy a t-shirt, win a car" method!? Except I'm not in a position to give away a car... so instead, I'm giving away a Doc Race N54 intake manifold, or $1,000 cash if you're not into unreliable N54-powered BMWs.

Buy anything from my website and you'll automatically be entered to win: https://bimmerstreet.com

You'll get 5 entries for every $1 you spend. So if you buy a $5 decal, you'll get 25 entries. If you spend $100 on a hoodie, a couple t-shirts, and a keytag, you'll get 500 entries (+10 bonus entries for spending over $100). It's pretty simple.

If you’ve wanted to show support for all of the BMW content I've created over the years, this is a great way to do so. Not only will you get something physical in return, but you’ll have a chance to win big!

  5. It's been a little while, but I've got some updates...

The oil analysis results on the 135i engine came back, they said everything looked great. Clearly, it did not. Waste of $$$.

I bought a 335i from Florida for $3,500, sight unseen. Plan was to pull the motor from it, and use it in the 135i, then LS swap this cheap 335i. It came with tons of aftermarket parts, but needed some work.

I wanted to get it driving and put it through it's paces so I knew the motor was good. And in doing that, I realized it rips! Transmission doesn't hold the power in 5th or 6th gear, but I was pleasantly impressed up to 130mph+. After giving it a little TLC, it's almost too nice of a car to rip apart lol.

That's if this engine is still good after this beat run...

Nice work on the channel.  Looks like you found the 1st failure mode(internal) on the N54.  Now slap in some H-beam rods in the next one and find out where is the next failure mode.😁

I'd say the N54 is living up to the hype of "the German 2JZ".  800+whp on a stock motor that was 250ish stock.

Thanks! It's crazy what this thing handled. I'm going to keep this engine to build over time, and get a stock, unopened N54 from a junkyard or something to get it back on the road for spring.

  7. I've had a few people reach out to me asking to check back into WIBimmers... and I realized it's been way too long since I've updated this thread. So much has happened since my last update a year and a half ago.

My Instagram and YouTube channel are where I post most of my content. Be sure to follow/subscribe if you're interested in keeping up with my BMW builds!

I'm currently in talks with Billiam Mason (BMB Autowerks) about a built engine. The 135i engine is finally ticking/knocking internally after all of the 750+whp abuse. My goal is to get something that can handle 900whp and maaaaaybe throw a bigger turbo on it. He recommended a 6875 Gen 2.

Here are a few pictures/videos to enjoy.

You are probably already familiar with it as you are much more knowledgable about cameras, and video editing, but the Track Addict app and Race Render software are fun and can make for some valuable additions to video footage.

the Bluetooth OBD2 dongle I use on mine doesn’t really have an adequate sample rate but its the cheapest one and was really only made for diagnostics (Carista). Anyways, it syncs with gopro cameras which is cool

I've been meaning to look into this more! Gonna have to check it out and see if I can get anything setup before auto-x on Sunday.

Kudos on getting out and enjoying your car. Did you drive with stability control on or off? ( I didnt get a chance to watch the whole video yet. There was 1 crash at my last visit to Blackhawk farms by a guy in an F80 that switched stability control off. The immense torque of those cars seems challenging to control.  If M-Dynamic mode is still a think its probably a good way to go especially as it provides understeer correction as well, not just oversteer.  On my E46 I didn't detect any stability control intervention with the more lenient ZCP/CSL  "M-Track mode" on.

I drove with stability control on for the first couple laps. My friends convinced me to turn it off for the last couple laps, but you're right, it's a lot of immediate torque to try to control. I talk about it in the video, but the S55 power comes on so abruptly. It's almost like an on/off switch... all motor then tons of boost/torque. It's not very predictable until you get a ton of seat time. I can see why someone crashed with it off at Blackhawk.

I’m really glad you were able to make it out man. If you keep at it you will no doubt improve. Autox is by far the cheapest/safest way to comfortably push a car.
I would try and keep 9/3 hand position on the wheel as much as possible. Avoid shuffle steering as the inputs tend to be jerky and can upset the car, I only overhand the wheel if it is super necessary on tight stuff. Line choice will get better with more seat time and definitely walk the course a few times. Looking ahead/through the corner towards the exit/apex whatever helped me a lot when I first started. Getting the car in the right position will help you not ruin the next 3 corners type of thing. I try to avoid “coasting” as much as possible. Either on throttle/braking/maintenance throttle. On RA Motorolex it’s super slick so I try not to be Hard on the brakes while doing large steering inputs.  For slaloms I usually ignore the first cone and try to make that a braking marker (depending on the course Obviously, but RA they can usually be ignored because the slalom “entrance” usually lines up with a corner exit)

I am by no means in a position to instruct and still am a Certified noob as well, but that’s some of the stuff I have picked up on riding with people that are way faster than me.

when they allow ride alongs, 100% get in someone’s car/grab an instructor

Well I'll be at Shawano this weekend to give it another shot! I'll definitely keep all of those tips in mind. Thanks for the insight.

Sounds like they'll be allowing ride alongs on Sunday :)
