  1. The most challenging aspect of this build has been the exhaust. After studying several options most manifolds just wont fit this chassis. I stumbled across some cast manifolds that speedway markets called "LS1 tru-ram". These manifolds are cast stainless steel, likely in china because the material has been shit to weld on and is mildly magnetic. Anyway, they market them as stainless with 1 3/4" primaries and a 3" collector. I chose to use these and snake 2.25" tube down under the engine mounts and back up. This system is full twin-scroll with twin wastegates, I chose 44mm which is probably excessive but whatever I hate boost creep. I did have to modify the driver side manifold to make better clearance for the steering shaft.

Hey Nick! Long time no see.

I cant believe you are boosting the LS!

Are you going to get it tuned at LMT? Or is there an LS dyno tuner near you?

It's been awhile! I would like to go to LMT, I've got a terminator X I will be installing. Not sure I will be making a huge effort to get there this year, I'd really like to get a Gen IV LS that can handle the boost. I've been trying to talk the wife into letting me build an engine this winter.

  3. It's been awhile, some might remember me from the fall colors cruise a couple years ago. Now that I'm bored with the LS1, it's time to put a turbo on it. I honestly just miss the violent nature of the turbocharged m20. I'm mostly interested in driving the streets. I like turbo systems that spool fast/early and hit hard. So i chose a Borgwarner S369  (69/72) with a T4 0.91 A/R turbine housing. This is probably the smallest you would want to run on a 346. It certainly will choke at full RPM, this is fine for me, I wan't quick spool for the streets. The rest of the system will be designed to be capable of the sub 1,000 hp level with my fuel pump being the limiting factor and obviously the SBE LS1 the weakest link here. I'll start sharing some pictures now and explain some things on the way. I'd love to hear suggestions if you have.

  4. Im still hoping to organize an August/Sept. WIBIMMERS meet and drive that goes to Road America and either tours the facilities a bit or just get to hang out within the premises at the end of the drive. If you have any dates/info/tips/ideas please chime in!

I would be interested, I’ve been wanting to go there for some time for HPDE and stuff. OP thanks for the invite.

  6. I'm not sure what I am going to do. For now I'm sticking with the style 5 weaves and 205/45/16 BFGoodrich Sport Comp 2's. I would like to get some drag radials though eventually. To be honest the gearing seems a little high right now and In a straight line it breaks loose shifting into second at 50 but quickly grips and powers through.

Once I source a 4.10 LSD things may change...

I run a 373LSD in mine with a much taller tire (255/40/17) and more power.  410LSD would work well for your setup.  GLD for the 1/4 mile?

  7. Are you still running the weaves or will you be going with something meatier to get all of those ponies to the asphalt?

  9. Yeah it gets to 100mph pretty damn quick. It's super fun and I'm pleased. I'm just learning how to drive it now...it's really crazy shifting from into 2nd gear going 40+
