    Biarritz Blue Mettalic, if I remember correctly.  Same color as my '99 540i was.  Pic of mine below.  I think that's a match??!?

    Damn I miss that car.....  So much fun.

    Seriously though the motor in your car is plenty reliable. At this point in the car's life there shouldn't be any major mechanical to worry about. Maintenance is always higher on an S motor because you need 10w60 oil and more quarts of it, but overall still not bad. 

    I do cruises all the time with a smaller group of members here who are more apt to cruise regularly on backroads. I also have a client out in Greenfield that I occasionally am onsite at so probably not too far from you. There will be opportunities to drive this summer. 

    I've also been historically active at the track and have eaten a tire wall in my day at Blackhawk. Funny story I'll tell you about it sometime. I'm always looking for other WI bimmers members to do track days with. 

     

    Speaking of track days......    Will the prodigal son be making his return this year to the asphalt playground?!?!  Any plans?

    Ya...  Boo on the weather this weekend, and the Packer game results.  I'm pretty sure I have an early cold coming on after standing out in this crap all weekend.  Boooo.

    Sounds like the Ride went as well as could be expected with the weather.  Did you guys end up with reasonable turnout?  Hope to make whatever the next event is.....

  17. Who can mount tires for a reasonable price?

    I have had great luck with either Rob's Imports or ATF Tire.  They are both in Kaukauna.  Great prices and clean, trustworthy work.  Both places have mounted several sets of street tires, winter tires, and R compounds, and I have never had a single problem......  Even with ugly 19 inch Pirelli R compounds!!  I believe both places are about $20 per tire for mounting.

    Thanks....

    Ruby's engine and drive train were completely rebuilt a few years ago.  No expense was spared and no short-cut's taken.  I could have probably bought a really fun beat-around track car for what that silly little 4 banger cost to rebuild...  Really glad I stayed with the original motor though...  It is a riot to drive sounds great with the DTM airbox on it!!
