  1. I'm experiencing an issue that is pretty common with e9x's where the car won't go into sport mode because the wiring gets fucked up from friction over the years.  I can sometimes shift it on my own but then it just goes back into regular D mode.

Anyway, is there somebody that could help me out with this wiring issue?  It doesn't look too difficult if you have experiencing connecting wiring and shit.  I have no experience and even less patience so I don't want to try it on my own.

Here's what I'm talking about.  This video even shows how to give the wiring more slack to prevent this from happening again.

You could check with Mraz in Brookfield.  Outside of the normal German stuff I have seen a lot of Italian cars and some old British stuff in their parking lot.  Otherwise you could check with Kelly Moss in Madison.  I'm sure they've run across a lotus or two in their shop.

I was going to recommend Kelly Moss.  I saw an Esprit there once when I took my car there so they must have some familiarity.

  3. I got pulled over on I-39 near Janesville on a Friday morning as I was going to pick my dad up for his chemo appointment.  I wasn't speeding so the only reason they pulled me over was the front plate.  I think one cop may have been training the other because two came to my car, which seemed unnecessary.  I was just told to put my front plate on and they let me go.  That was the only time I've ever been stopped for it.

When I lived in Chicago, I got a ticket for no front plate while the car was parked on the street.  They don't seem to be that aggressive here in Madison/Wisconsin.

I wouldn't say most but some will.  My Service Manager in Madison recommended Exhaust Pros or Speedy Muffler.  He said he has talked to guys that have gotten custom exhaust work done by them and they were happy.

I went to Exhaust Pros once and the dude was a dick.  Seems like that's a pretty common theme in the reviews online.  Maybe I'll see if Speedy can do it.

I did this on my car without removing the resonators or secondary cats.  I love it!  I've heard my car from outside and it sounds a lot better then I expected.  From inside the car with all of the windows down it puts a smile on my face.  It's sporty without being loud or obnoxious.  I've had others tell me it sounds good from a roll as well.  I'd highly recommend it if you don't want to spend the money on an exhaust.  I'm not familiar with the Circuit Werks exhaust but looking at it, it appears to be a no-name exhaust sold by Circuit Werks.  If I were to spend money on an exhaust i'd go with the VRSF.

Thanks for the clip.  Would most exhaust shops do this for me if I told them what I wanted?

That special M-Performance edition 335xi has been for sale for a while. Id consider buying it if I were you. The 4dr awd is much more practical than your 135i

I tried finding it on Craigslist recently but I couldn't find the ad.  Did someone else with terrible taste buy it?

  7. Section 346.31, Wis. Stats., states that a person making a U-Turn must turn into the left lane from the left-most lane. Section 346.33(1m), Wis. Stats., goes on to say that the U-Turn may only be made when it won't interfere with other traffic. So the blue car would have to turn in to the left lane and the orange into the right lane meaning they could turn simultaneously as stated above. Here's a link to the statutes
