  1. I have done a good job of leaving this thing alone, largely due to the fact that I didn't work for a couple months. But now I'm back at it!

Drivers side light works fine, passenger stops working when you have it setup as normal.
Plugged passenger light into drivers plug, works great. Plugged it back into the pass. side, doesn't work.

Tried a footwell module (FRM) reset with ProTools, but that didn't do anything, nor did the reset short fault.

So I think this means I need a new FRM in the car to make things work properly, and it looks like I should be able to use ProTools to adjust the VIN on a new FRM.
For the time I have just disabled the adaptive headlights (which I like and want to make work) and the bulb checks for the headlights so they stop  yelling at me all the time.

The tires are getting low on tread, and the standing water on the roads here makes that an unpleasant time. Tires shortly!
But like, who buys tires for stock wheels?!

  2. I know I'm late to the party on the comments, but my engine bay had been shot with a home depot HVLP, and a 10 gal craftsman air compressor.
The only large difference is that I didn't have large flat areas that I had to worry about air consistency as much. Using an inline water trap, and a water trap right at the gun makes the largest difference.
Painting is something I always wanted to spend more time with, but takes time and space!

    Engine bay for reference.

I'm sad that the car was misrepresented and thus a complete waste of your time, but I'm laughing out loud at "instead of 'I'm sorry we are idiots'"  :D

    I've had the exact opposite.
Car was listed as auto (I know, I know) and I show up to look at it and ask the guy why they haven't sold it yet, as it had been listed for a bit.
He told me they wont change the ad, so people keep showing up to buy it and some went as far as asking what the third pedal was for. It's amazing that some people don't even realize that a manual transmission exists...

  4. I'm glad to see you made the new bed for the router, I recall talk of that while it was at the shop. I'm also stoked that you've got potential to end up in the engineering dept, as you've certainly got the knowledge and thought process for it!

Your thread title made me a bit sad this morning, I miss hanging out at the shop and "working" (drinking beer, blowing shit up, and setting things on fire counts right?) On things over the weekend.

In for updates. Saw you moved to the mountains and was wondering if this project went with. Hoping to see it in the next Gambler 500 as I've wanted to run a lifted E30 in it since I heard about it a few years ago.

It didn't make the cut to be brought with right away, as I didn't have an actual place to live yet.

I'm in a house now with a 2 car garage, parking on the side for two, and room for two in the driveway.

My intent at this time is to find another E30 out here and swap the driveline between the two. The lifted E30 game is amusing, but I miss having something that does corners, and think the diesel would be a hoot in a lowered chassis. I've got the truck if I want to go rip around in the woods.

But who knows, maybe I'll get it out here and find some places to mess around with it and change my mind.

If anyone has a hookup on shipping cars let me know!

  6. A friend of mine uses those little wedge ramps for his car, and they appear to be very convenient!

I have had great success with the rounded head extractor set, though I should really update mine and get the set that goes up to the large sizes!

How are the cold shifts now?

Jealous of the white! Car looks clean, I like the black grilles and tinted windows. I'm surprised you got an auto, but you will still enjoy it. Reminds me of my old 328i, a fun daily driver.

How long 'til you lower it on wheels and add blackline tail lights?

PS: I don't think you made a public announcement of your move on FB or WIBimmers, but maybe now it's time to migrate over to WABimmers...

The auto was decided on due to traffic and my intended use for the car, but who knows, maybe I'll end up with a manual one soon.

Wheels and tires are something I'm currently looking at. Arc-8's in hyperblack or hypersilver seem like the move. Backordered tho...

    As far as tails go

I gotta figure out what to do about the all white rear bumper.

Oh yeah, I moved. I live in Washington now.

  8. So it's been a lot of truck stuff lately, but we're back to the BMW way of life.

I enjoyed seeing Jake's car hanging around, and I am getting sick of driving a crew cab long box truck around in the Seattle area, so I was on the hunt for a new and smaller daily.

So far the chassis feel is awesome, and it corners a lot better than the truck....

It's just a 128, but that seems like the move for now, reliable, good gas mileage, and overall a bit easier on the budget. Sport seats and the sport steering wheel coupled with the paddle shifters make it aight. It's got something that sounds a lot like the BMW performance exhaust on it, which sounds just fine.

Cars our here are super awesome due to the lack of rust.

Mkah motorsports sells some sick doorcard deletes that are still door cards :P

I hope they used a material that would degrade in a few years.
Something about E36's with door cards falling off just feels right.

It'd be like owning an E46 without the A or C pillar cloth falling down, ya know?

Yea, I have read a ton of posts on e90 and bimmerfest including this one and they all seem to point in different directions from hpfp to lpfp sensor to high pressure sensor. None of them really give a clear answer on a fix

There aren't always clear answers on a fix
Start with the easier stuff to fix / diagnose, and move to the more complicated stuff later. The internet tricks us all into thinking that we will find exactly what is wrong with out car, with one simple search.
The internet is a great tool for narrowing down issues, and confirming common ones, but diagnosis on your own vehicle will always trump what you read online.
