RamRod E28
Im wondering what I can easily and cheaply black out on my 2000 328i? I want to do get the smoked turn signals and side markers and tails in the near future just trying to catch up on a few bills and get my near future move over with so I can have a garage to work on my car inside rather than my damn Porsche always hogging the one car garage up lol. wasnt m3
What color is your car? Being a 328, I'd assume it has stainless window trim. I'd start with that along with grilles.
Brian.
I agree with TJ, do shadowline and black out the kidneys. That might give your car a good look.
jc43089
A buddy of mine has the same car and has it blacked out. It looks great, I will try to get him on here to post up some pics/details.

Earl
You leave it on and tape around it
Brian.
You leave it on and tape around it This, unless you're a meticulous asshole like me, then you remove it, which... is alot of work.
wasnt m3
The pieces below the window are pressed on and come off really easy. Just take your time and don't bend them, they'll never be straight again. The stuff around the tops doesn't come off as easy, I'd leave that on. Brian.
Trying to get the E28's gutter trim on, was a bear and a half, and still isn't on 100%
BsE46
Black trim, wheels, kidneys and tint make a huge difference in appearance!
BsE46
The top trim was super easy to pull off. I started taking the trim off at the front door. Just get a flat blade screwdriver behind the trim and gently pry off. Then go along the whole trim and once you get to the back curve it has these slide clips so just pull the trim up. It will make sense when you do it. The lower trim is a serious female dog to take off. Again use a flat blade screwdriver start at one end and gently pry up. It is aluminum so it will bend if you try and pry to hard. It will take some time but so worth it!!

Guest Laishes
DId you buy those kidneys black or did you paint them yourself?
BsE46
I painted them. Roughed them up with some sandpaper. Put 3 coats of primer then 4-5 coats of black. Turned out really well
Guest 00A
I bought mine new for $35, totally worth it. If you haven't replaced the grille since new, a lot of the clips are probably broken by now.
jc43089
Looking good Brando!! You would be givin'er with no shoes. Haha, you also need the black decals for the roundel.
Narcosis
Just do it. It'll look good. I'm moving in that direction with my jet black e92. Replaced the chrome trimmed grilles, got some matte black wheels, looking to replace the orange side markers on the fronts with something smoked, gotta find someone in my area who'll do a bit more than 50% tint on the front windows. Im wondering what I can easily and cheaply black out on my 2000 328i? RamRod E28
I already blacked out the grilles and tinted the blinkers side markers and blacked out the rear turn signals I would put pictures up but this site is saying my pics are too big and I have no clue how to shrink down the pics
