This is just speculation but it was a recent sale with the 7 character plates. Someone could have bought it and figured out they got screwed with a bad head or head gasket and is trying to pass it along.
That thought crossed my mind as well. Especially with all the maintenance done "in the last 2 months"
It could of gotten new plates for other reason as well. I guess without running the vin its just speculation.

"surface" was the wrong choice of word I guess. Probably should of just left it at "rust".

Any 20 year old car that lived in the rust belt and didnt get taken off the road in winters is going to have surface rust. It would still make a nice daily mechanically wise, as long as the typical e36 weakpoints are ok

It's been up for awhile too. Probably location. It's also not a highly sought after car. Most people in the market for an e36 either want a nice m3 or a cheap beat up car for drifting. Not much demand for a nice clean 328.So am I missing something with the e36 328i? Low mileage, a whole lot of recent work done, manual, more pics than typical spam bait, for $2500 obo??Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk

I hate people who can't take a straight picture of their car (referring to the red e39). Like wtf.

I have an ultra-gauge for my M3 and its been an awesome purchase. Gives you a live readout of a lot of the sensor data used by the ECU including engine coolant temp, intake temp, throttle position, O2 sensor voltages, etc. You can set audible alarms for things as well which is super useful for keeping an eye on your coolant temps. More improtantly, it can also read and clear check engine lights!

Thats another, cheaper option. Thats what I use. Download torque on a phone, plug it is and bam. You can set it up with all sorts of gauges to your liking.

I'm probably going to just drive the car .5 miles down the road to the local shop, give them parts, and say "here, install this" and make it their problem.
I'm excited but still cautiously optimistic because I still have to actually prove the car can move under its own power.
Been there done that. Sometimes sanity is more valuable than money.

I seriously considered scooping that wagon. I just have a hard time buying euro cars from little town hodunk corner lots. It would also have to be at least 1k cheaper.

Auto. And it has some motor problems. It overheated and yadda yadda. It was at some middle of nowhere backwoods mechanic. Hoping it may be an easy fix.
O shit good deal! Auto or manual?Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I should clarify. I bought a set of nice style 5s with a free e39 attached Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk
LinkSent from my SM-G955U using TapatalkFound a nice set of style 5's for $500. Bonus free e39 attached to them. Not sure what I am going to do with the car. It had been on CL for over a month...i finally said F it and pulled the trigger. It is worth it in the wheels alone. I would hate to part the car because it is very clean minus a crack in the front bumper. So I'm going to try to get it running. Worst case scenario it would need a new engine, and m52s are like $200 used. I may fix it and flip it (minus wheels)....or who knows I'll keep it around as a spare car.

Someone should buy it just to put it out of its misery.
That being said, I bet it is just low on trans fluid.

I mean, if you want ugly red interior....then I guess so. Its not factory, and I wouldnt even really say its in "ok" shape.

Yeah I'm not showing it to anyone, that's why I asked you guys not to share it. I definitely saw it and turned my hazards on while showing down, I wish you could hear that instead of the music.
But thanks for all the advice, another new car thing to learn I guess
Yea, if you need to show it, remove the audio file.
You can clearly see you putting the hazards on in the reflection on the windshield, so you do have that going for ya.

Weird looking TI

Even so, it would make a good beater....the set of DS1s is worth over half what he is asking for the car.

So I am thinking about getting the faces media blasted like I did with my oz fittipaldis (for ease). It looks like whoever painted these last just sprayed the whole wheels, barrels and all. Would media blasting hurt the lips at all if I just got everything blasted? Obviously they would require polishing after, but I am just thinking about ease of stripping everything. The barrels are all peeling on the inside as well
