B C Posted April 2, 2013 Report Share Posted April 2, 2013 subs take up way too much room. plus i couldnt imagine dropping $$$$ into it since i wouldnt be able to hear it anyways over the sound of the engine ripping at 4k with the windows down. i guess i could play a track of engine noise instead.I did this once with a V8 soundtrack in my VW Rabbit at a stoplight.... Dominic540 Posted April 12, 2013 Report Share Posted April 12, 2013 I have 2 10" MTX Audio subs in a single box with a 1200 watt Nitro amp. It adds just enough bass for my taste, without going overboard. Got them cheap from a friend, and wired them into my e36 along with a JVC head unit. It sounded pretty good but I wanted more midrange, as e36's arent great when it comes to that. Once I got my e39, I wired them into the stock head unit and they sound perfect. I have all of the range that I would like, and that little extra loudness when I feel like it. Now I just need to replace a couple of the stock speakers which have been blown slightly. Posted April 12, 2013 Report Share Posted April 12, 2013 I really want a Kicker 12" L7, with a big enough amp to where it can hit hard, but be able to turn it down so I just have nice bass during music. but that'd require an auido over haul.
