  1. I have a brand new never installed Berlin TQR 07 headunit and a PSA108 amplifier, both are in excellent condition and everything is included, it even still has the original "code" anti-theft stickers for the windows!

If you are looking for something period correct for your 80's BMW, you cant really get any better than this one, and it comes with an accessory jack so you can run other amps off the DIN plugs from the receiver.

Looking for $300, as it is a 100% complete setup and in perfect condition.

Can ship, on your dime. or arrange local pickup, I am in Racine.

    Good idea!

    Thanks!

I forget where I stumbled upon this, but has served me very well. The B34 coolant block does not have all the bosses tapped and threaded, so you will need to either buy a B35 coolant block (recommend, as they are quite affordable and your block is probably corroded....) or drill and tap the B34 block.

Use this in conjunction with putting the B34 rear coolant flange for the cylinder head, T it in with heater core plumbing and you now have a  better hot coolant loop for the head and heater core.

You will have to lengthen the wires of course.

  3. This can be done to any E32, E34 or E28. I take one of the plugs out of the coolant block and put the auxiliary fan switch in there and then put the plug in the radiator. Now it kicks in when it should, instead of being on the cold side of the radiator. It has prevented an overheat on the E32 and in the E28. Cheap insurance and peace of mind in case you get stuck in traffic on a hot day.

    Cheers!

    +1 Great advice

I would like to add a picture of oil changes done regularly at 10k miles like recommended by the dealer. No matter the brand it all breaks down in the end. Oil still collects dirt and no engine filter will ever filter it all out.

10K oil changes are BS. Been working on machinery and vehicles for along time and my dad/mentor/teacher has been ASE certified master tech for longer than I have been alive; German cars= 5K max OCI.

  5. I beat the daylights out of my M30 and blew it up, spun a rod bearing on cyl.5. always ran Valvoline 20-50 with ZDDP additive.

Rebuild with all new components, still running 20-50, BUT I use Liqui-Moly MoS2 (Molybdenum Disulfide) additive and if it is ever below 40 degrees I have a 100W oil pan heater to help cold starts. This was 140,000 miles ago and she has a strong 150-160 PSI across all six with minimal leak down.

  6. I will NEVER buy another Horror Freight jack EVER again. I jacked up the passenger front corner, had the jack stand at the ready to place under seam and was momentarily distracted by a wild phone call (probably some hot tail at the time) when I hung up and went to finish putting the stand in the proper place the BRAND NEW jack had drifted down under the weight of my 5'er and put a very LARGE crunch into the lower door sill :( into my pristine rust free California fresh door sill!

I pitched that jack, bought an AC hydraulics jack, made in the Netherlands!, and never looked back. It was expensive, actually very expensive, BUT three lessons learned that day; never trust a big butt and a smile, always have your mind and eyes on your work AT ALL TIMES and invest in quality tools (unless in a pinch, then the left handed cable stretcher will do)

  7. Jeff has very solid advice here. Distance between crank and cam centerlines is quite critical in maintaining proper tolerances so your pistons do not eat the valves for lunch, preventing detonation during periods of high load with low(ish) RPM etc etc.

Also, Get the Mahle or JE custom pistons, W do it right the first time and then smack the redline silly with the tach needle for years to come. Wiseco also makes a decent product. I opted for factory Goetze rings when putting my M30B34 back together and she purrs like a kitten.

What's up guys? just moved to the area from San Diego and am looking to find new meets and other bmws . I used to have a straight piped e92 m3 and just upgraded to a 2018 f80 m3.

Thread hijack much? lol no worries. Nice M3, make sure to use some MoS2 additive to protect those rod bearings!.

I currently reside in Mt.Pleasant, right near RCOC and the old Case foundry. Moved here from Illinois, from unwavering pressure from my main squeeze at the time and now she decided to up and leave me :( So Mika, that is the name I gave my 535i, takes top spot hahaha. Sorry for the lack of pictures, she is a parts shelf in the garage during hibernation, but I do have her on a trickle charger and battery blanket so she fires right up without hesitation.

Always have been a GERMAN car nut, my dad had a Porsche 911 turbo (1984 930 Euro spec with a 4 speed!!!)  when I was a little kid and I would start laughing hysterically when he would launch it from a dig and the turbos spooled, that car would shitngit! My first vehicle was 1984 Volkswagen Jetta GLI with the 5 speed close ratio, 1.8L JH block and Bosch K-Jetronic. Miss that little beast.

My current BMW, and my personal favorite of all, Is a Delphin Gray 1986 535i, 5 speed with plenty of uprated 7 series parts for added comfort handling and power.

To Jdesign: cash grass or ass, no one rides free for that info ;) I am not online much as I work allot and limit my time on the internet and watching TV because I like working with my hands and being active. I also really like to cook and bake! If we ever get to have a wrenchfest, I would be more than happy to cook if people bring beer!

  9. Hello everybody!

Happy 2018 to everyone. I am a new resident in Wisconsin, well less than a year, but still new.

Looking forward to meeting some new friends whilst here, also love to buy and trade good parts or help a fellow Bimmerphile out if they are in need. Just thought I would introduce myself.

OH! and to a fellow named Dan who has a very clean white E30 we were cruising down A in Kensoha county that one day, I thank you for recommending me to this site!

Eager to bring the old girl out of hibernation when all the salt is clear.
