One thought, knock sensor will pull timing which will change how the mixture burns changing afr. If you can get freeze frame data that would help out a lot.

Yes the newest download is on romraider which for whatever reason it won't let me log on and the admin won't respond to my emails. I have some of the definitions.
I don't know if I would be able to get anything of of the DME because big name tuning companies lock them or whatever. So Joe Shmoe, no pun intended, can't steal their tune.

Mercedes is the path less traveled when it comes to stuff like that, or if somebody figured it out they make you pay instead of sharing the information for the greater good.
I am just going to buy a reman unit. There would be too much RnD.
With the warmer temps I want the car ready sooner than later.

What's the actual problem? If this is the one that had the power hooked up backwards there could be a lot of f'ed up stuff on there...
Can you pull the info off of them?
There is two 8 prong proms that are for the immobilizer. It won't let the throttle body operate.

That would be nice if it was one of the mosfets. It's an epprom and I looked into getting the equipment to read and write onto them but it doesn't really pay for itself.

This is for my mercedes the ecu is bad but want to explore other options before I pull the trigger on a $1100 ecu.
There is companies claiming to rebuild them so basically a reman unit. The $1100 is for a reman a new one is $2400

Anybody sent an ecu in too be "rebuilt" or have experience. Every site has hit or miss reviews.

For the harness you could take some heater hose, slice it open, and wrap it around the loom and zip tie it closed.

This is why dyno tuning is the best for the most power and safety. If you are only gaining 10 hp from the extra 10 deg of timing is it worth the risk?
