  1. Don't know. Short somehow? I've seen bad or loose relays cause all sorts of running/starting issues with e30s. Anyway, easy enough to check and rule out. That and fuse 11 are always the starting points for fuel supply issues.

  2. In addition to the 57.1 centerbore also watch your offsets. Honda and other fwd 14 and 15" 4x100 will have +38/45 and higher offsets and will need a spacer to clear your front strut tubes. Are you sure the problem is your bottle caps and not cracked or dry rotted tires? Mine came with 14" borbets and 2005 build date hri fusions. Tread looks great but the tires are badly cracked on the inner sidewalls.

  3. All good. Welded the tab top, bottom and a spot in the middle. Thought about running a full bead but would have fried the threads on the tab. I had removed the seat shock for clearance and the welded tab ended up being strong enough to use to anchor channel locks to recompress the shock. Got the seat back together and in the car, no more rocking.

Thanks to Jake at RAWSOMOTION in Germantown for the quick weld.

  4. Seat back will rock back and forth with you in it when you hit the brakes. Plus, you can lift one side of the seat back and rock it back and forth (inboard and outboard). If you are lucky the screw that attaches the seat back to the L bracket is loose/missing. Unlucky the small L bracket has snapped off at the bend and needs to be rewelded. I am unlucky.

  5. Where things are made can be an interesting question. The Maxima has been assembled in the US since 2004 and is classified as "domestic" since it meets the 75% domestic content rule. Ok, but under NAFTA this includes parts made in the US, Canada, and Mexico. But under the American Automobile Labeling Act (basis for the NHTSA figures) domestic content figures include US and Canada. The annual Cars.com content %s focus only on US. So the scale you choose matters. Maxima's engine is "made" in the US, and transmission is "made" in Mexico (which means that each of these parts is assembled in the location, and again is comprised of parts that meet the "domestic" content threshold of 75%??). In a global production world things get complicated.
